Welcome to the necessary conversation midweek edition. I'm Chad Kultgen with me is my mom, Mary Lou. Hi. Howdy. Nice salute. Today we're going to be looking at some clips. I don't know what you've sent me. I have four clips that I want to show you that have to do with your upcoming midterms in Oklahoma. I don't know how much you know about any of the candidates. I wanted to basically go through your two main candidates for governor and Senate.
Oh, wow. Okay. Show you some clips of them, what they think about certain things, talk about what they think, and see who you might like to vote for.
Okay. All right. So, you want to begin with your clips? Yes, I sent a couple on Omar. Uh, I have a Megan Kelly one, I have a Matt Walsh one, and I have Jesse Primetime from you.
Do Jesse Primetime and Megan Kelly. Okay, here's Jesse Primetime. Bon Shoes alert, the Department of Justice issuing subpoenas to Ilhan Omar's sister and another family member. That's according to the New York Times. World War 11 is expanding. Federal agents raided her DC home yesterday, left with boxes marked seized property evidence. NPR says the investigation goes back to the Biden administration and someone's been talking. There's more than one whistleblower complaint here.
And suspicions about immigration fraud might be backed up by a cover-up. The guy running the state library who keeps all the records wrote an email that now looks like a smoking gun. Quote, "Library staff were informed by Omar's congressional staff that her birth year was incorrect and requested that we change it to 1982." Omar's congressional staff are working with Wikipedia and with the Biographical Directory of the United States Congress and other sources to correct her birth year on those sites. And as of today, the birth year has not been corrected on the two sites I mentioned.
This paper trail showing she may have fudged her age is important why? Well, because if she was 18 instead of 17 when she was a refugee, then she was too old. And she lied. And she couldn't have been naturalized. That means she couldn't serve in Congress because only naturalized citizens can serve. Her husband, Matt? Not really sweating it. Here he is walking the dog. And Omar? Yeah, she's already fundraising. Chip in whatever you can.
Trump's out to get me. Blah, blah, And she's going to need the money because her lawyers, they're going to bill her for every cent she's worth. Which is another question. Is she worth [clears throat] 30 mil or 100 grand? That's another avenue prosecutors are pursuing. Did she marry her brother? And did her father, a colonel in the Somali military, lie about fleeing persecution?
Okay. So two websites have her birthday wrong? That's what we're taking out of that? No. What we're taking out of this is to run for Congress, which she has and won, you have to be a naturalized citizen.
Okay. Those dates that uh her staff were asked to change, if that is correct. No, you you're misunderstanding. Her staff is not asked to change the dates. Her staff is asking those two websites to change the dates because they have it wrong.
Oh, okay. I guess you could look at it that way. That's what that guy said. That's what your guy said. They have also subpoenaed now uh relatives. Her sister and maybe the brother.
It's Trump's DOJ. He goes after whoever he wants. Our DOJ currently is in the worst place it's ever been. It's a [ __ ] joke. They don't investigate actual crimes. They just go after whoever Donald Trump tells them to go after. And right now, he hates her.
Well, she kind of hates him, too. Understandably. I would like to get down to the real information in this, if it's true, if it's not. And I had read things in regard to her finances. You know, she started out 50,000 with her husband, and then within a year to two, they were up to 30 million. There was supposed to be some kind of a winery in California that was never there, that money was being funneled through.
Okay. So, wait a minute. You're saying you have a problem with a politician making money, a lot of money, maybe through corrupt means while they're in office?
Through fraud, too, in her state. She was also been accused of fraud in the state of Minnesota. Donald Trump has been convicted of fraud 34 times at felony level. So, if you have a problem with a politician enriching themselves, and I'm not even saying she did that, but if you have a problem with that, Trump is the place to go. He Whatever you're saying, let's say she's worth 300 million, and it's all fraudulent.
Trump is in the billions. And it's all fraudulent. Trump never did uh start an organization that was called uh Feeding Our Future Uh-huh.
in Minnesota. That was during COVID-19. That money was funneled down up there the wrong [snorts] way. Um Uh-huh. There's a There's a lot of things um that have They're What I want to do is get to the bottom of it. Is it true? Is it Is it not? If it's not, let her stay. If it's true, if she married her brother to bring him over here illegally, if her age was not correct when she was naturalized, get down to the bottom of it. That's all I'm saying.
Right. So, your own guy was not saying that she messed up her age on these documents. He's saying that the websites messed it up. If you're pissed that she maybe started some organization and you think it's fraudulent, Trump started an organization that stole money from kids cancer research.
So, now you're doing what what about? You're doing Now you're doing what about? I am not doing what abouts. I am saying the very problems you have with Ilhan Omar or the ones that you claim exist, Trump has actually done them and been convicted of these things in court.
Okay. What I was trying to say is her staff was the people that worked to change those dates. Not really what Jesse just said. Can we show the Megan Kelly clip?
Yes. Thank you. Okay, just watch this. Homeland Security Investigations raided the Washington, D.C. home of Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar early this morning under a court-authorized search warrant. The Justice Department confirmed the action as part of an ongoing criminal probe into her personal immigration paperwork. For years, Omar claimed she became a U.S. citizen at age 17 through her father in 2000. Public records and a 2019 video showed she was actually 18 that year, making her ineligible for derivative citizenship as a minor. Two days later, her staff contacted the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library and changed her listed birth year from the 4th of October, 1981 to the 4th of
October, 1982. That switch protected the story she had told for years. Democrats once cheered a similar raid on a former president and repeated that no No is above the law. Now they call this search political intimidation and an abuse of power weeks before an election. Omar herself posted that it was just the latest escalation in a campaign of baseless lies. The evidence that convinced a federal judge to approve the warrant is already public. If she obtained citizenship by misrepresenting her age, that status is fraudulent and void. At minimum, she faces denaturalization and the loss of her seat. This is the first real crack in a
case that has sat in plain sight for years. Okay. I just want to get down to the bottom of it. I mean, I've read it both ways. I've read all stories about the brother that she married to bring him over here.
Okay. That's not That's a complete lie. Okay. The I just read this this morning cuz I knew you were going to bring this up. I want to say it was the Minnesota Star Tribune did a deep dive into the three people she's been married to.
Mhm. The second one is the one that they're accusing of being her brother. They looked into it. There is zero evidence of that. None.
Okay. Well, that's why the sister is being subpoenaed and I'm sure the sister will say whether that is their brother or not. Right. But, the And also the thing Megyn Kelly said there about like, well, they did the same thing to Donald Trump.
They did. No, they didn't. In a way, they Explain. Okay. The FBI executed an unannounced search warrant on President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida on August 8th, 2022. The search was part of a federal investigation into the mishandling of classified government documents and presidential records taken from the White House after Trump left office. The warrant was authorized under federal statutes, blah, blah, blah. The FBI recovered over 13,000 classified government documents that were just sitting in his bathroom.
Yes, I do remember that. Okay. So, he stole classified documents and just had them sitting in his bathroom. Like Joe Biden had them like Joe Biden had them sitting in his garage too.
Sure, just like that. Okay. So, those are different things. This is Donald Trump telling his DOJ go on a witch hunt, make her life a living hell.
I don't think so. I I I disagree with you on that. But, like I said, let's get down to the bottom of it. If she has nothing to hide, then she's going to be fine.
Uh-huh. Can I show my last clip cuz I I do kind of want to get that last one. It's kind of quick. Yeah.
And then we'll go to yours. All right, ready? I'm ready. I hope this is the one I want. finally appeared for an interview with [snorts] a local news station to explain what happened, his version of it, and he didn't really help matters, I would say. Watch.
I got the flu, and I'm feeling much better, and I'm glad I had a chance to recover. Did you ever have to go to a doctor or hospital?
I just went to my primary care physician, but it wasn't anything worse than a you know, a nasty case of the flu. And so, I was in bed and you know,
The internet was invested in your outcome. Okay. I'm sure it's cuz they care so much about me. Uh well, no, it's because you're clearly lying, and you people lie about everything. So, and everything about this interview, his demeanor and his answers makes it seem more likely that he's lying about something. Looks perfectly healthy, first of all. If you just spent 2 weeks battling the flu, an illness that left you bedridden, unable to campaign for the most important election of your life, or even speak on a Zoom call, then you know, you you you simply don't look this healthy and normal when you go out in public. And it
gets worse. He's now admitting on the record that he didn't suffer some kind of severe diabetic complication or even a particularly unusual bout of the flu. And most importantly, he contradicts what he said during that Zoom meeting 2 weeks ago. Cuz remember, he said in the in the Zoom in the Zoom meeting that he went to urgent care in Dallas when his symptoms became severe. But, in this interview, he said he went to his primary care doctor. So, let's play that side by side here.
And last night it got so bad that I went to the the urgent care here in Dallas and and I was diagnosed with the flu.
How bad was it? Somebody wants to know. Is this just like in bed rest or did you ever have to go to a doctor or hospital?
I just went to my primary care physician, but it wasn't anything worse than a you know, a nasty case of the flu. Okay, so this is a kind of contradiction that by itself doesn't necessarily mean much. People make mistakes. Saying urgent care and then saying primary care is not that it's a contradiction. It's not that glaring that someone couldn't have just been mistaken, but when you combine it with everything else including how utterly bizarre his disappearance was and how he's acting now, it seems more significant.
Okay, so you the the evidence you have here is that he possibly went to an urgent care and then the next day went to his primary care physician. It's not a contradiction. And you have the evidence that this guy is saying he doesn't look sick enough to me and he looks like he's lying.
Something doesn't feel right. Something doesn't feel right about this whole story and you know the other flip side is that he was in a mental hospital somewhere um or a mental center for help.
Right, which again is no evidence. Listen listen just listen to what you're saying about both of these people. That is all debunked. I know that. I That whole story
Okay, then why say it? Then why are you bringing it up? Because something just doesn't feel right about this whole thing to me. That's why I wanted to bring it up.
That's fine and and things can feel however they feel to you, but you have to look at just generally speaking the stories that are being promoted to you about these two Democrats. She married her brother. She lied about her age. He was in a mental institution. Not He didn't have the flu. These are crazy things and that is what the right uses to get you afraid of these people and hating these people.
They are promoting these ideas that these two people are lying to you for some reason. About marrying her brother. He was in an insane asylum.
I've seen those stories a lot on different sites. And even the New York Times did the one on Omar. Saying, you know, that they're checking out into her naturalization. So, that's not
crazy to me. But, the one about um I always say his name wrong. [snorts] The one James Talarico. Did I say it correct?
Tagliere. Yeah. That I don't know. I just have a weird vibe about this. It that I have a weird vibe from him generally. I think that may just be his general vibe.
Okay. Yeah, I'm not I'm not saying it's true, it's false. I just I don't know. Something didn't feel right on that one. That's all I wanted to show you that.
But, also like your once again, this is this is a standard that you hold someone else to that you don't hold Trump to. So, let's say he is lying about his medical history. Let's say that he's just straight lying to us about it. Trump does it every day.
Yeah, that's what you say. Yeah. That's what I say. We can all see it. That thing that [ __ ] your your buddy, whoever that guy was with the beard, is like, "Hey, doesn't look like he's sick." Well, Donald Trump does look like he's sick all the [ __ ] time. Bruised hands, giant legs, weird [ __ ] under his his jackets, like devices that are attached to his body, falling asleep constantly on camera. Constantly. More than Joe Biden ever did by a magnitude of 100 X.
And we're just supposed to be like, "Oh, no, his doctor said he's in perfect health." Uh I will give you that. Okay. Okay. That's all I'm saying is you can accept these attacks if they're focused on the left, but you ignore the exact same evidence that is being presented on the right. And this is something that the right does. It's part of Trump's playbook. He blames the left for [ __ ] he's doing.
I try to read both sides. I do. Hey, I wanted to do one more thing. This is hilarious. Put your arm out like straight up so the camera can see your sleeve and your arm. Like just put one of your arms up, okay? Look at me. We match.
[laughter] We have black eyes. [laughter] You don't think we're the same a little? Oh my god. I noticed that right off the bat. Okay. [snorts]
It's a little cold here in LA today. Um at least when I woke up. All right. Now, I want to get into some of your politicians that you're going to be voting for in these midterms. Do you know anybody? Do you know who's running for governor in your state?
Yes. Um I can't say his name correctly. Mazie Mazie. You have that one against um What's her name? It's a woman and I've seen them debate on TV once.
Okay. That one. It's Mike Matzie is your versus Cindy Munson, all right? That's right. Cindy Munson. Now, I I have some clips of each of them on
Okay. talking generally about ICE and immigration. Uh we know where you stand, abolish ICE, right? Yes. Okay. Here is Governor Mike Matzie or gubernatorial candidate, I should say. He's not a governor yet. Here we go.
Secretary Markwayne Mullin is from Oklahoma and he have he and I have discussed the progress uh so far. He tells me that they have now in the Trump administration deported 1 million illegal immigrants and in a Stitt administration, we're going to, you know, work side by side, hand in hand with the president's leadership of ICE to deal with the immigration problem.
All right, he's pro ICE. Right. is pro-war in Iran. He um wants to phase out state income tax. He does not stand for health care for all. And he supports data centers being built uh regardless of what anybody in his constituency says, all right? Those are the issues that I found for him. Now, let's take a look at his opponent, Cindy Munson. Are you ready?
Yes. Oop. I got to pull this Cindy from over here. Here we go. Some people are really afraid of ICE right now and all of the raids taking place all over Oklahoma.
Mhm. Do you plan on doing anything to stop them? Mhm. Yeah, I'm was I have not supported the governor's Operation Guardian because I think that first our state law enforcement, and of course that's where the governor would have the most jurisdiction, but even our local law enforcement do not have the resources, meaning uh enough people on their force and also being uh compensated enough to take on an additional responsibility that, you know, the federal government has decided to target a group of people.
Um and so undoing that and and reminding our state law enforcement that the focus is keeping Oklahomans safe and keeping our Oklahoma community safe, not targeting people. I have heard horrific stories of Oklahomans who you know, have a family in Northeastern Oklahoma where a father was detained and now the wife is in charge of their poultry operation. You know, when when her husband was the one who was the the main person who worked on that poultry farm. I was in far western Oklahoma last week and I had a conservative farmer who said, you know, I I think that we need to I'm in favor of, you
know, legal immigration and we have to fix our policies and those who of course first of all anyone who's committing crime whether they're documented undocumented if they're from Oklahoma they're from the United States you're going to be held accountable but he said, you know, losing my friends because of the rhetoric because of you know, the fear that people now have they're not showing up for work.
Sometimes kids are not showing up for school. So putting that type of fear in families is it's not leadership and it's unnecessary. You know, we have to federal government has to stop politicizing immigration. There are many people in this state who are have been working towards legal documentation and to be a legalized citizen in the United States and it's because it's always being played in politics and they you know, have to go jump through all these hoops and makes it very difficult.
But the additional attack by the state and state leaders and the governor makes it that much harder and we're not solving any problems.
Okay. So you see her stance. She's against ice just like you. But is like if people do crimes we're We're to hold them accountable. But immigration we should let people do it. If they're here doing it the right way, we should let them do it. That is her stance. Whereas the other dude is like [ __ ] roll out the red carpet for ICE. She also maintains that it is a waste of Oklahoma resources to have Oklahoma state troopers, local police helping ICE. That those are resources that should be used being used for the people of Oklahoma, not for a federal immigration crackdown.
Um What She never said how how are they going to hold them accountable? Did she? I mean, she's going to try When she becomes a governor, hopefully, she will. I mean, she I just cut a small clip out of a like 2-hour-long interview with her.
I know. And and yeah. I mean, I can't show you everything. You got to do some of your research, but I can tell you she opposes state troopers helping ICE. She wants lower healthcare costs and more money for rural hospitals in Oklahoma. And um she would pause all new data center construction on her first day in Oklahoma, she has said. All right, so
I like I would I'm leaning that way. I would like that. I like her. So you're going to vote for a Democrat for governor for Oklahoma?
I'm not going to vote for a Democrat yet. I I've got to see more. I I know I watched them debate. The debate was uh I didn't It wasn't good one way or another. I've seen commercials with her that I don't care for lately with little kids. Well, I had little kids in there like with crayons and doing weird stuff.
Okay. Uh-uh. I've got to watch some more commercials and do a little bit more digging on them. But right now, yeah, I liked everything she just said.
Okay. So just to let you know, you prefer the Democrat over the Republican, right? Right now, I liked what she said. Yes. Okay. So, we're getting somewhere.
I like that. vote for her? I I need to hear more of um how do we say his name? It's not Maser, Macy, Macy.
Like Matsie or Mazie? I I don't know how to pronounce it. It's M A Z I Z I E. in my neighborhood there's um hm um
M A Z I Z I E, sorry. Not the flags, there's like pro-him all over in my neighborhood. I bet. I bet that guy This This Last time I was back there visiting you when Dad was in the rehab facility, I remember as we would drive to the rehab facility through your neighborhood, there was a guy who had like a big flagpole in his front yard and on the top of the flagpole is an American flag.
Directly under it is this black flag that has a picture of a machine gun on it and it says, "Come and take it."
Yeah. Yeah. I can I can guess who that guy has a sign for in his front yard. I bet everybody on our street is packing. I know they are.
Yeah. [snorts] We've had kids doing weird stuff during the summer, you know, where they come to your door, they knock, they run. And our HOA has had a big discussion about it. Don't do that, kids, you know? Don't do that. There's a lot of people in our neighborhood that are locked and loaded and ready and don't do that. That would just be uh horrific.
If they somebody just shoots through their own door without knowing who it is. Well, there was There was a video clip too where the little kids did that, not little. We're talking high school age.
Mhm. Then they went out and hid in between two vehicles. And then someone came out of the front door looking around. Just don't do that.
Yeah. Um all right, we have two more candidates. This I mean, you guys have a bunch of people on your ballot. I know.
You've got all kinds of I looked this up. There's a a of US House people running. I think there are five House seats that are up for grabs and then in your own state legislature, there's like a hundred people or something on it. I don't even know how many things are. Obviously, you can't go through all those. So, I just wanted to put together governor, that's a big one, and then the US Senate. Uh maybe next week we can do US House. So, do you know who's running for your Senate seat?
I don't think so. This is a Senate seat that was left open by Mark Wayne Mullin getting promoted to head of um DHS in in place of Kristi Noem.
Yeah. Your remember this. Okay, your two uh people who are running are Kevin Hern and Jasmine Thomas. Okay. All right, let's watch Kevin Hern first. Kevin Hern has been in uh the US House for a few years and he's part of um the He's like head of the policy committee or something. He's He's a kind of boring dude. He's like a businessman, basically. Here is I wanted to play you his campaign video and get your take on it, all right? Here we go.
I've always [snorts] been American first [music] because America is the only country in the world where a kid like me who grew up dirt poor [music] and worked his way out of poverty, build a business, and earn your trust to serve Oklahomans. But the American dream is under threat [music] by the radical left and Rhino Republicans who opposed President Trump's America first agenda and want to turn the United States [music] into a third world country. That's why I'm running for US Senate to ensure President Trump has a loyal ally.
Kevin Hern did a great job. A leader who [music] stood by his side when Rhinos turned their backs on him. Who will fight against Democrat insanity, keep the southern border secure, deport dangerous illegal immigrants, stand with law enforcement,
[music] and deliver economic affordability. We all deserve a chance to live the American [music] dream. It's my goal to ensure every Oklahoman can. I'm Kevin Hern, America first and Oklahoma proud, and I approve [music] this message.
I like that. I liked everything about that. The immigration thing was a little bit too much, but I liked everything else about that.
pro-ICE. Every time the ICE funding bill has come across his desk in the house, he has voted for it. Okay. I liked everything [clears throat] else.
Okay. He owns, I think, 100 McDonald's or something through Oklahoma. That's his business. Okay. Um and he just does anything Trump wants him to do. I don't know if you like that or not because a lot of the things that Trump wants to do, you oppose.
I liked that commercial of it. All right. Um in June and September, there were two votes that went through the house to pull US troops out of Iran, to end the Iran war, basically. He voted no on both of those. He wants to be in the war. He enjoys the war. He supports the war. He supports ICE. Uh he doesn't have a health care plan in his current campaign that I could find anywhere.
But, he has never voted on anything for universal health care. So, he seems opposed to that. And he did vote to to release [clears throat] the Epstein files in November, but uh has since remained quiet on the issue and doesn't really care that half of the Epstein files are still being hidden from us. All right. So, even though you liked his campaign video, and I wanted to play that, first of all, there's like nothing of him talking about ICE anywhere. All the videos that I could find of him, Jesus, I watched a lot of video of him.
Um it's mainly him just talking about like finances and stuff and how he pulled himself up by the bootstraps. All the like little local news outlets that he goes on are just kissing his ass and he loves it. Um but I wanted to show you that campaign video because it's it's propaganda. It's him saying, "Look how good I am. Ba ba ba ba ba." But in reality, you are opposed to all of the major issues that he stands for.
Now the only thing I The Yeah, the war and the only other bad thing would be um the ICE. Yeah. He's pro war, pro ICE, anti-health care.
But when the Epstein files opened, you said No. He voted yes. That By the way, I think that was almost a unanimous vote or was a unanimous vote to release the Epstein files. So he voted to on the Epstein Transparency Act. That's the thing that Trump had passed. So okay, we're going to release the files, but as we know, they haven't released half of the files. He's not [clears throat] saying [ __ ] about that.
He doesn't give a [ __ ] about that. He's doing whatever Trump wants him to do. That's literally his only function. I just that commercial was quite strong.
I understand, but I'm using it again to illustrate the point that these people can make any kind of media they want to convince you I am the right candidate. Look, I know you like me talking to Trump and I know you like the little backstory of me building my own business and blah blah blah. But the truth is once in office, this guy will vote against every one of your interests.
Hm. He wants to give more money to ICE. He wants us to stay in the Iran war and he does not want people to have free health care. Those are the facts of this guy.
Okay. Show me the other one. All right. So this um his the candidate he's running against, Jasmine Thomas wants to end ICE as it currently operates. I couldn't find anything about her talking about the war in Iran. She supports Medicare for all and is against Epstein.
Okay. Okay. Here we go. [snorts] But the thing is lived experiences that made me want to become DSA because I have two kids in my own. I have one with autism and he's eight and then I have a little girl that's six. So, women's rights were huge for me because not only am I a woman, I have a daughter. But two, um I have a son with autism, so disability rights was something that I was huge on and making sure that we had the resources. Childcare, because I had to pay a thousand dollars for two kids while I was in nursing school.
Mhm. I went through the ringer with that. Also, making sure kids eat in school because that's a no-brainer. We So, I mean and and Medicare for all. That's huge in my book. But there's some things that I don't align with the DSA on, too. So, that'll be like military like defunding the military or defunding the police. Like cuz I do believe that we still need law and order and I still believe that we have we need defense, national defense.
Absolutely. Okay. So, there and she I believe was or maybe even is married to somebody in the military. Um she is basically saying there Medicare for all. Prior to this, she had a little thing where she was kind of talking about immigration, too. She's very against ICE, at least as they currently operate. Does not want to defund the military or the police. Says we need them both.
That's where she breaks from the Democratic Socialist Party. She's like, I agree with some of what they're saying. I want Medicare for all. I want to get rid of ICE. But I definitely still want to fund the military and the police.
So, she's almost presenting herself as half Republican, and Democrat. To me She's not That's who she is. That's That's what she believes. But why would To me, why would you run straight Democrat ticket then if she's on some of the Republican stuff, too, that she likes?
you can't have the nomination from both parties. Yes, I know that. [laughter] What do you Are you Are you suggesting she should run as a Democrat/Republican? What What do you mean?
know. I mean, she's kind of half and half on stuff. Right. That's what I'm saying. She's on your side on all of these issues, including military spending.
Right. And police spending. She doesn't want to abolish the police. She doesn't want to abolish the military or even downgrade the amount of spending. So, if you elect her as your senator, she will go in there and vote to get rid of ICE, vote for Medicare for all, vote to get us out of the Iran war, and vote to spend on military and police.
I I can't make my judgment on just one clip, so I'll look more clips of hers. Okay. But just from what I've shown you right now, like I mean, I can tell you at least on the issues, you are more aligned with her than you are Kevin Hern.
A little bit, not all the way. a little bit. Mom, do you think we should be in the Iran war? No. He does. She doesn't. Do you want to abolish ICE?
Yes. He doesn't. He's funding them again and again and again. She wants to change it. The only thing where uh both of these candidates kind of agree on, I think, is military spending, Jasmine Crockett and Kevin Hern. I think they probably are are very similarly minded in that, just based on everything that I've read and what I saw in these videos. But like I You need to accept what is right in front of your face here.
You are ideologically way more aligned with Jasmine Thomas than you are with Kevin Hern. I'm glad you brought these clips. Now I've got homework and I will
We know that you don't do homework. I do do homework. Um but I've been seeing them more and more on TV, too. A lot of political ads and I've been zeroing in when they talk.
But those ads are and I mean, maybe I shouldn't have shown you his campaign video. The ads are propaganda. Okay. They're designed to make you not like the other side.
All right. Right. I get that. So, you have to like, don't watch their ads, don't listen to any of that [ __ ] You have to read this stuff for yourself.
Okay. You and and with Kevin Hern, because he's been in the house, you have his actual voting record. So, when I'm telling you he's pro-Iran war, that's not just [ __ ] he's saying. That's how he's voting. He is voting to spend US tax dollars to extend that war. Why? Because Trump tells him to. Trump literally I don't know if literally is probably the wrong word, but it seems very much like this. In all of the stuff that I read about him and all the videos that I watched and stuff, Trump is like ever present. He's using Trump as like a I'm a pro-Trump guy, Trump likes me, Trump
made me the the head of policy committees or whatever the the [ __ ] committees he's on in the house. Um it feels to me like Trump just called him up and is like, "Vote this way." And he's like, "Yes, sir." So, this guy does not have Oklahoma in mind. He he's doesn't give a [ __ ] about Oklahoma. He's on the national stage doing what Trump wants so that he can potentially elevate. There have been talks of him I mean, he's obviously giving this up if he leaves the house to go into the Senate, but there have been talks. He was like on that short list
for a minute to maybe be the next speaker of the house. [snorts] Okay, I will look into that voting record for sure and I'm going to read more. There's another race going on in Kansas that is very interesting. Um Forget the guy's name but he's a Methodist minister or was or is a Democrat and he seems to be leading the way over the Republican person there. I would like to look more into that.
I look I have a lot of friends there in Kansas and then because uh I get a lot of Texas text messages just because and I've been getting a lot of information from people running in Texas, vote for me, vote for me. I wonder
But that like Texas is [clears throat] a good example. It's Ken Paxton versus Tagliere. I know. It's like Right and so like why do you think this uh rumor that he was in an insane asylum is coming out right now?
Correct. It's fake. True, fake, what to believe? Cuz if they can like right now at least at the the last polls I looked at, Tagliere is leading.
He was until he went into hiding for the 11 days or something. Okay. That's you don't even know what the story is. He's like in hiding now. Was he in an insane asylum? Was he in hiding?
He had the flu. Right. When he did resurface, he made a statement that I just laughed so hard. He said something like Oh gosh, I wish I would have clicked it and saved it. It was like, well, if I've been away for a while due to something something
Uh-huh. then Paxton has been away for for health reasons of being spineless. Right. He said Paxton has been spineless because he won't debate him."
Uh-huh. That debate needs to take place. Let's see him debate each other. That's for that's how the state. Yeah, I agree. I'm reading all this [ __ ] that is like debunked, debunked, debunked.
I have read it, too, but yet But But yet you bring me a video today. So, it's basically been debunked. It It is
keep seeing there was this lady, um, Linda somebody that gave me the the private plane's number that went from where he was to Ohio, and here it is, here it landed. Then there was a call-in, which I know it's against HIPAA laws, but someone acted like uh, they were a relative and asked if he was there, and they said, "No, he was released earlier from that one hospital." So, I mean, his campaign could say, "No, he was never there."
But see, so why they do this is because now it puts doubt in your mind, and it puts this weird story in your mind of him He's like in an insane asylum now, and none of that is true, but it's in your brain. So, when you're in the the voting booth, that's all you're thinking of. "Oh, I do kind of like everything he stands for, but he might have been in an insane asylum. I'm voting for the other guy."
insane asylum. He had been stressed, it said. He had He had had a breakdown. Whatever. I'm just saying like this and the Ilhan Omar thing, in my opinion, are very clear tactics used by Republicans to smear these candidates, to smear these people.
If I had to bet on one or the other, I would say, "Yes, probably on the uh, James Tagliere." Did I say it right?
Yep. I would say yes on that, but on the flip side of Omar, I think some of that is all shady. Fine. What you need to focus on, however, are the candidates in the state where you're going to be voting, [laughter] okay? So
But I see all the other stuff, too, and it does interest me. The Kansas one is interesting to me because I have friends there, and we talk about it, and then the Texas one is of interest to me, too.
Right. And so is my home state, yes. Of course. But like the Texas one, the Illinois Omar stuff, it also serves in a larger capacity to paint the Democratic Party as evil, corrupt, lying, whatever. So that also seeps into your brain when you're in the booth in Oklahoma voting for whoever, you also have this kind of like Democratic taint. And so I mean, it's it's not even possible to show you videos of these people without knowing what party they're they're standing for. I would have liked to have done that, but I do think it's important to like see the person talking. That is
a a huge part of who you're going to vote for. Can you trust them? All the little signs and symbols that they give you. And then also, if you look at these candidates, like the Republican Party is running two old white guys. The Democratic Party is not. At least in these two um races that we just looked at for your Senate and your governor.
Correct. Right? Does that play a part for you at all? Not for me, but maybe other people, yes. I see what you Yeah, maybe other people, maybe. That Kevin Hern guy, like you can see he's just like a miniature Trump. He's worth a couple hundred million dollars. He has built this kind of McDonald's franchisee business empire across Oklahoma, and he just does whatever Trump says.
Trump is like the billionaire version of him. Now, I'm not saying Kevin Hern is corrupt in how he he got any of his money. I don't know. He might be. Um but I I no idea. I have no evidence to that end. So, he's not like Trump in that way, but
He reminds me of um The one that was in fire. Uh-huh. Yes. I I'm sure he's worked with Mark closely because again, Kevin Hern is already in politics. He's in the house.
Right. I just want you to like if you can look past party, look past affiliation with Trump, look at these issues. You are opposed on the your most important issues, which are in my opinion, ICE, the war, and healthcare. You're opposed to the the two Republican candidates on every one of those issues. And you are aligned with the Democratic candidates on every one of those issues.
I will click on and find some more videos, but like you said, if I go to their webpage it's going to be like you said, a campaign for them. Yeah.
Yeah. It was interesting. I had to like putting this together last night took me just to find those clips. I would say probably 5 hours of just
Really? Yeah, going through the internet, looking at like everything from little 2-minute appearances on local news stations to like sometimes there are longer hour-long sit-down interviews, and I I was watching it on three times speed just to like see what they were saying, but um there's a lot of stuff out there for them if you look. It's not going to be nicely packaged because they're you know, state candidates basically. Even for your governors stuff. I was just like, "Jesus, there's no good footage of them anywhere."
Right. Um but you can find it. You can find the footage. The that Kevin Hern guy goes on um some local Oklahoma news thing all the time, and it's this little bald guy interviewing him, and the guy is just like up his ass. That guy loves him. And so, he never asked him anything hard, you know? He's always just like, "Oh, hello Senator or Congressman Hern. What do you think you're going to be doing with fiscal policy in the next quarter?" You know, [ __ ] like that. He's like, "Well, I'm glad you asked that. I plan to lower taxes and blah blah blah blah blah."
They probably have him on this roundtable thing on channel, I think it's channel 4 channel 5 news sometimes. I've seen him on there, yeah. They like him.
Yes. But I I am curious like is it seeping into you at all that you are more aligned with the Democrats than you are the Republicans in your state, at least in these two races?
Not [snorts] seeping in, but I agree. I some of the things that I like might be a little bit over the the line for me, yeah.
No, the three big things. The three Are these your most important issues or no? ICE, the war, healthcare. I think the economy is huge, too. People are struggling.
I should have [ __ ] There are a million clips of Kevin Hern talking about the economy. That [ __ ] don't think anything's wrong.
It's terrible. Nope. Kevin Hern don't think so. Really? Yep. Kevin Hern is like, "The stock market's at all-time highs. Our economy's booming. Everything's great."
People are struggling. I know this. Yes. Okay. So, Kevin Hern is either lying about it or he's unaffected by it or he's even making money off of other people's plight during this time.
Mhm. Okay. Well, this was a good good Wednesday. This was a good one. All right. Just remember you align with the Democrats here, especially with your um Senate candidate, Jasmine Thomas, who wants to change ICE but keep the military funded.
I need to see more of her clips speaking. Um and like I I need to see more of her clips and I'll zero in on that.
Okay. Um maybe next week I'll put together some of your house candidates, and uh we could roll through a couple of clips of them. I did find it very interesting like I I only really watch Oklahoma local television when I'm at your house, so I get it in little bits and pieces. Last night I was just [ __ ] living in it trying to find these clips.
It's interesting. [laughter] You're funny, and I bet if I come to LA and I would be watching your TV, it would be interesting to me, too.
LA, of all the local news that I watch, I watch New York a lot cuz I set my time zone on my computer to New York, so I can watch like trailers and stuff a couple hours early. Um obviously I watch a lot of LA cuz I live here. Oklahoma, Texas I've seen a lot of having grown up there, and obviously with all the stuff going on in politics there. LA's the best in terms of local news, like how polished it is, the performances.
They're They're all actors, basically, you know? Yeah, actors. New York is good, but they have a little There's a little something to New York. They got a little juice on it, you know? Little East Coast.
Um can we also look at the Kansas race for governor? I'd like to look into that a little bit, too. Okay, Kansas race for governor. Yeah, I'll I'll try to pull some clips for that.
Okay. All right. Well, thank you everyone for joining us for this Wednesday episode. We hope it's been illuminating. The midterms are almost upon us. We've got um I believe early Early voting starts in like 2 days, I think, in some places.
I know. And uh so yeah, however you're going to vote, get out there and vote, and then just in a couple of weeks we may have a massive change in this country. Hopefully that's the case, and hopefully Donald Trump doesn't step in and say, "Give me all the ballots.
Oh my god. This election is now invalid." Stop it. Okay. I love you, Chad. I love you, too. Thank you for doing this for me, my Democratic mother. We will see you on Sunday.
[laughter] Bye. Bye.
