Um I don't know that that type of thing has much of an effect on her. I mean, you saw some of it today.

She really is like backsliding a little bit in the the area of like being able to justify any of this crazy [ __ ] that he's doing. Like the I thought for sure today because she's so like pro-military that um the what's going on in the USS Abraham Lincoln would have some effect on her, but she was like, nope, he's still a great commander-in-chief and the important thing is that boat's getting out of there now.

Like, okay. Um Jack Zilkin How you from Ireland? Doing okay. I truly believe Mary Lou is secretly a single-issue voter. Abortion is her MAGA shibboleth. Um I don't like that's right. I don't like she is a single-issue voter. I think she is a party-line voter. And I don't actually think she cares all that much about abortion. Which obviously she keeps saying like that's the thing that Trump does well or whatever blah blah blah. Anytime we're like, you've got a bunch of X's, a bunch of things that you're saying you don't like about Trump. She always goes back to um the border, that he's closed the border, and so that makes him a good president. Where was I? I don't really think she cares all that much about abortion. I Or any of the religious stuff. I'm with my sister that my parents are not that religious. I don't this like kind of

For those who don't know, this is a colchicine family story. Rudy dead. Before Max and Kitty, who were the dogs that used to be in our podcast until BOTH OF THEM DEAD. Rudy was this little fat Chihuahua that my parents had prior to Max and Kitty.

At one point, the story that I have told, which was then repeated on 10-minute podcast, an old podcast I used to do with two buddies of mine, and that story was repeated by uh Tommy Blacha, I believe, on that podcast, and Will Sasso, a story I told to them in confidence, and then it was repeated on that podcast. And it became kind of like a a catchphrase among our little group of friends.

But the story goes, I had just come from a meeting, um I think I sold a TV show in that meeting, and I was driving back to my agent's office from this meeting, and I saw my dad calling me, which is extremely rare. He never picks up the phone, he never calls. And so I answer it, and he just goes, RUDY DEAD! AND HE WAS CRYING BECAUSE THEIR DOG HAD DIED. AND so Rudy died in that accent has become a a thing.

Wednesday, Mary Lou claimed Trump wouldn't endanger citizens, yet he continues to target the Olympian over the reflecting pool on the M A Oh, Massachusetts abortion bill. Mary Lou, did you listen to the mother's testimony during that event at all? I'm sure she didn't.

Um and it doesn't matter to her. In her mind, abortion bad, outlaw it everywhere at all times. States' rights don't matter. All that [ __ ] you know. It's kind of what we talked about today.

Greg Kinnear speaks in third person. Do you feel with Bob getting better, you guys missed your window to fix Mary Lou? No. I don't. Because she still, even today, was like, I said abolish ice. She said she still wants health care for everybody. She still is adhering to the the changes that have been made in terms of like some of the bigger platform issues where she is now against the Republican Party, against Trump. She's adhering to those things. I feel like the, you know, maybe we've lost the momentum, but like the progress seems to be iced. It seems to be like she's still there with that.

It's just that now any forward momentum we've had, she's she's starting to retreat a little bit. And it might have something to do with the fact that, you know, as she was saying today, maybe my dad's going to come on next week. I'm very curious to see what that's going to be like. Um it'll be interesting for sure. I will definitely talk to him about the Indie and about his health generally.

Um but yeah, I'm curious to see where his head is at with some of this stuff. I can only imagine he's still like 100% on Trump's side, regardless of what the issue is, but we will see. TJ Gamer 9713, as an atheist, I still think you sound kind of crazy when talking about what comes after death. Sorry. No no need to apologize. You you know, your belief is your belief. Mine is mine.

Um I would say I used to be a hardcore atheist. I feel like at this point that's just as dogmatic as being hardcore Christian. There's no possible way any of us can know what exists after life. And I would say there is some at least um historical evidence to the fact that human consciousness persists after death or at least exists independent from a physical body. I think we have had that evidence for a long time in humanity and science just discounts it because it's not possible to be measured by current scientific means. And uh generally speaking, the scientific community, if it can't measure

something, if it can't give it a name or a theory or whatever, it dismisses it as non-existing. But that's simply not true. I would ask you, TJ Gamer 9713, to try and tell me what dreams are. I think we can all agree we have them, and they can't be um measured, really. I [clears throat] would even ask you to scientifically measure the taste of a strawberry to you, that very subjective conscious experience. Can't be measured, and yet we all have it all the time. The only thing that truly exists in the human experience is our subjective interaction with whatever this is, and that cannot be measured. So, um

you know, I got more, I guess, into a rant on like science or materialism versus the woo-woo world, but I think atheism kind of like locks into that. And I'm a huge fan of all those, the whatever the Four Horsemen, you know, Hitchens and Dawkins and blah blah blah. Um I find them very interesting. I loved Christopher Hitchens when he was around, but I just think that they're I've had personal experiences in my life in the past, whatever, 10 years, that 7 years-ish, something like that, that have kind of like led me down a path to be much more open-minded about it. I

totally understand if you're not. I used to be exactly where you are, and I get it. Um there is some kind of a comfort in dismissing all of these things that can't be explained, or at least can't be measured through scientific means. I totally understand that. Um but I would ask you to be slightly open-minded, have a conversation with somebody who is um maybe experienced, not necessarily an NDE, but any kind of weird thing, having sleep paralysis, seeing entities, you know, in the room with you, having premonitory dreams, or uh even synchronicities. I'm sure you've experienced synchronicities in your life where everybody experiences these things from

time to time, where you will see something in the world that seems to be almost communicating a message specifically to you only for you that you're the only possible person that it could that could understand it. For example, I'll give you one of mine, a recent one. Um I had just completed writing this movie called Moon Cops that I've been working on for a minute and I was like, "What movie should I write next?" And I had three basically like premises that I was into. One of which um was about It was a horror movie and it was about a couple who comes home to

find their cat sitting outside their front door and the woman of the couple is like, "Oh, I told you don't let our cat out. He's an indoor cat. How the [ __ ] could you do this?" And the guy is like, "I didn't I didn't let him out. I don't know what's going on." They pick up the cat, they open the door and there's another identical copy of the cat sitting inside and that kind of kicks off the the movie.

It's called Two Scobbies because my cat's name is Scobby. So, that's one of the the ideas in the hopper. I just kind of ask in a meditation, "What should I write next?" I then go out with a buddy to this weed bar here in West Hollywood um called The Woods. It's owned by Woody Harrelson. We're sitting there and this little cat walks out from the bushes with a red um not necklace, what do they call it?

Collar on with a little bell on it and this woman who works there comes out with a laser pointer and she's putting it on the ground and the cat's playing with it and we're like watching this cat. Cute cat. Uh we're talking about, "I guess that cat just lives in the the [ __ ] weed bar. What a a good life for a cat." Then an identical cat walks out of the [ __ ] bushes wearing the exact same red collar with a bell on it and there's two of them and she's playing with them both and I'm I'm sure they're siblings, but like they looked pretty much

identical and I was like, "This is less than 24 hours after I asked, 'What movie should I write next?' and I have a movie about two identical cats." That to me felt like a synchronicity. It was almost as though the universe was delivering me this answer I had asked for. I'm sure you have had experiences like that as well. How do you explain it? Do you explain that as simple coincidence, meaningless?

I I used to I used to write it off like that and now I don't. That's where I'm at with it. Thank you for your question. Janaydoll No, Janaydoll, sorry. I believe that this world is an illusion, too. Me, too. And time does not exist. Same. If we all eventually merge back into one consciousness, what do you think the point of this life is? Just play just play of consciousness.

I don't know. And I mean, that's the We've been asking ourselves that question since the dawn of uh human cognitive evolution, basically, I think. Why are we here? What is the point of this? Are we alone? I would lump into this. What is the universe? What is reality? These are all questions that I just don't think we are capable of answering. We can think about them in abstract ways, obviously, as we're doing right here, but I don't think that there it's possible to answer. Like I really do think we're in a like simulation, for lack of a better term. I don't know that it's like we're

in a computer game being played by an alien teenager. I don't know if that's accurate, but I I can tell you certainly what we are perceiving is not what is real, simply because we only have our faculties, our five senses, and the augmentation of those five senses through some technological means, and you know, microscopes, telescopes, whatever. But, um that's how we perceive reality. There are even on this very planet animals who have other senses or heightened versions of these senses that perceive this same reality in a drastically different way.

And those are just creatures here on our planet. What we definitely know is our senses and our perception of the physical world have evolved for our survival. So, what we see, here, taste, touch, and smell is not what's actually there. It's how we perceive it in order to survive better. And that perception has evolved along with our species, um honed exactly to the point that we are at now, where it has allowed us to be the most dominant species on the planet.

So, we are not perceiving what is real. Um what is real? Nobody knows. And I don't think we ever will. So, you know, the the question, what do I think the point of this life is? Who the [ __ ] knows? I I I literally don't know. I just don't think anybody else will, either. I I can't imagine how you could even come to the the conclusion. I have some like impulses, some ideas, or whatever, but they're like as abstract as anybody else's. They're they're no better than like God in heaven, blah blah blah, you know.

Is Sony one of those companies by discontinuing physical video games or physical media at all? I don't know. The thing that sucks about it is obviously if there are no physical video games, they control whatever that video game is. You might have downloaded the client to your hard drive or whatever. But um, they could render that null and void, too. I don't think it's a good move. I get why they're doing it. It's to give them more control, less overhead, blah blah blah. But I think an interesting unintended consequence of it, and you can already kind of see it happening, is the emergence of this physical media

collector space online where even like VHS tapes and [ __ ] are like selling for decent amounts of money. If you have any of this [ __ ] if you have old VHS tapes, DVDs, old video games of any kind, look it up on eBay what you got. You may have a little bit of money if if want to uh, sell those things because it's starting to like really take off as more and more of these companies are saying, "We're not making physical shit." And it's not just Sony in video games. The company that makes Magic the Gathering, Hasbro, has now said they're going to stop

publishing Dungeons and Dragons books, and it's all going to be online, and you're going to have to pay a subscription service and all that [ __ ] People are outraged, but like that's just the way it's going, so if you have physical copies of stuff, check it out. I I bet you'll be surprised. You may have something that's worth a little bit of money. Um and has a limited capacity for empathy, I think, as does my dad, obviously. Alexa KP7 and F, what does closed border even mean to her? I think it means literally no one gets to come into the United States. And I was I looked up some research on this cuz I was curious like, is she right? Did has Trump closed the border? And it's like yes, kind of. Or at least he has gotten the the number of arrests and detentions made at the border from people crossing the border illegally has dramatically decreased during Trump. But it was already on a pretty big down slope in

the last like 8 months of Biden. So, it's like I'm sure his policies are making it harder to come across, but um Biden had already like started to correct the problem that happened during his administration. So, I don't know. I don't know who you can attribute that to. I also don't even think it's a good thing. I mean, I've I've been pretty vocal on the show about like I don't think we should even have borders or countries for that matter.

I think everybody should be able to go wherever the [ __ ] they want. But um I think to her it means nobody comes in. I don't know like what her reaction will be to that or if she will you know, find some way to pivot or well, that's not real. I don't know. I literally don't know. When she was talking today about the sexual assault allegations against that Republican congressman or the domestic violence ones, you know, she's like, well, I don't know if we can believe them. That thing of like she never believes the accusers when it comes to domestic violence, sexual assault, women basically.

I don't know how to get around that. Um it's very frustrating. But I don't know, maybe the this next Epstein file dump will will help us out. So it's like you you can't rely on that [ __ ] for news, you know, and she does. As she said multiple times on this, my chat GPT did it.

Wade with his Supreme Court, and obviously that was one of the big things that he promised the evangelical movement in America was that he was going to overturn Roe v. Wade. He did do that. He kept his promise, so he keeps their votes, ostensibly. But, that to me is part of the cruelty message, that he does not care about any person's suffering or misery, and he will make [ __ ] worse for them if it means he stays in power. And that to me is what that is.
