Um from Chia Petet 9355, I started playing Populus. I hope you're talking about super populous on the SNES. Good luck with that. 999 levels to that game. Each one takes about an hour minimum. Um I guess some you can get through maybe like 20 minutes, but as it gets later into the game into levels 500 and above, you're looking at some massive amounts of hours. And the ending of that game very underwhelming. You'll be um probably sorry that you did it.

President Trump has proposed painting the 19th century grant exterior of the Eisenhower Executive Office building white, calling its current gray color a really bad color. $7.5 million to do this. face is fierce puss blah blah blah Jesus what a [ __ ] idiot um yeah no I mean I I I don't think most people are surprised by this necessarily I guess some MAGA are because he's broken you know certain promises whether he's running the country like a business or not um you know I think there is some expectation that if that's going to be the case it

would make your your company more profitable because in the the scope of business like the goal of any CEO is to make the company more profitable. So the stock goes up, shareholders are happy, you get to keep your job and get all your bonuses. But in this case, there is no like shareholders. We're the shareholders essentially, you know, but you don't get to oust the CEO of the company except for every four years unless that CEO can put in place measures that invalidate your ability to do that, which is what he's trying to do now. It's not quite like an actual company. Um, and and so I guess that has

its disadvantage, but even beyond that, like he's a bad businessman. Many of his companies have gone bankrupt. He's been sued for fraud multiple times, etc., etc. So, it's like, yeah, he is running it like a businessman, but a corrupt criminal one. Unfortunately, we can't um at this point in American history bring any charges against him because he basically controls the DOJ and the Supreme Court has said that no sitting president can be charged with crimes.

Whether it is like, you know, move in with a girlfriend, she has some pets now they're with you. or uh in the case of Squirrelius, this was like a literal wild animal who for whatever reason chose me and uh stuck with me on a daily basis until her she shuffled off this mortal coil. And

now all the squirrels in this neighborhood, I'm like, you know, there there's some link to her. They are some part of her lineage 100%. And every once in a while, I'll see one that looks a lot like her. And I know to most people all squirrels look the same, but not to me. [laughter] after you, you know, have spent some time up close and personal with a squirrel or multiple squirrels, you can you can really tell like physical differences in them and little personality differences and stuff. Um, yeah, I miss her quite a bit. I was thinking about her a lot for some reason

this week and somebody mentioned in our comments that I had asked this exact same simmer down question like a year ago and I was just like apologies. I just been thinking about Scorius a lot recently. Um, Davis Angel 1. Did Mary Luc see that her adopted son, Hassan, was cited in the US State Department report, Cuba, the capital of uh 21st century communism? He's being targeted. No, I didn't even see this.

Holy [ __ ] I I I know that he's been like popping up a lot on social media, though. He's really like blowing up to the next level. Even he was already at a very high level, but now he's like uh everybody's talking about him. But I didn't see this. So I would guess my mom didn't either. That's crazy though. Jesus. Jennonic Chad, I think it's time to turn the question to Marylu around. Instead of adding to the list of exes, ask what is he doing that she does support? We have asked that very question on this podcast many times. Um, and she always goes back

to the border that he's closed the border and nobody's coming through the border anymore. And then we try to juxtapose that with like, but okay, great. He closed the border. He's waging war. He's stealing your money. He's [ __ ] poisoning our food. Blah blah blah blah blah. And it's like, no, but he closed the border. He has done one good thing. That's what she always falls back on. I'm not sure if she saw that, but we've been talking about this um with some frequency over the past few months or whatever when it all started to happen. I believe it was two or three episode two or three Sunday episodes ago maybe. We talked about the monarch specifically, which is like her favorite uh I guess it's her favorite bug. I don't think it's her favorite animal. I think that's probably horses. But yeah, I mean she loves monarchs. She has built like a what do you want to call it? like a habitat in her backyard specifically with like the plants that they eat when

they're um what are they called? Like making their cocoon, doing their transformations and stuff, I guess, laying their eggs that turn into the worms that that become the butterflies. So, she does a lot of work with them just like in her spare time. It's like kind of one of her hobbies, you know, gardening and and um she puts little stickers on their wings and [ __ ] Like she's very into butterflies, monarchs specifically. And yeah, I don't think she likes that at all.

Um, so Angel Mom, please [clears throat] watch on your Please watch on your Dr. G explains retrump dementia. Please watch on your I'm not sure what this exactly means. basically like pretend he's alive still [laughter] until they can get through that threshold where Thomas Massie can't run. Um, and I think they're going to do it. No one has seen this [ __ ] in a month. And they're just going to do it. So, you think they give a [ __ ] about if Trump has dementia? Um, I lift weights pretty much every day. I eat creatine and I eat um BCAAs, branch chain amino acids, and then I

Donaldson that is from a series that is called um I mean the series is one of the the greatest fantasy series of all time.

It's about a dude who I think the whole series is called The Illearth War. It's about a dude who has it's set in the 80s which I believe is when it was written maybe the 70s. It's about a guy who has leprosy and he's like living up on this hill and the little community that he lives in, he hates them because they kind of like shun him and he has he still wears his wedding band that's made of white gold which becomes important later and um his wife has left him and he gets a electric bill I believe if I remember. It's been a minute since I've

read the series. He gets an electric bill in the mail and he's like you know what I'm not going to mail this back. [ __ ] these people. They have to deal with me. He has again leprosy. He's missing some fingers because of it. And everybody knows that he has leprosy. And so he marches down into the city and as he's crossing the street, he gets hit by a police car and he wakes up in this like fantasy world where uh magic is like siphoned out of the the earth itself. And there is a the kind of big bad character, the you know Sauron

character or whatever in that uh fantasy book is called Lord Fowl. And this guy who wakes up in this fantasy world is like immediately elevated to a messiah figure. And they the people in this world believe he is the kind of like prophesied um messiah of their world returned because he has certain uh featuristics or features characteristics I should say that resemble the prior messiah named Bareric halfhand. So, because this guy is missing some um fingers, they think it's him. And because he has white gold, which is the most powerful magical substance in this realm, they're like, "He's bearan returned. You got to go

fight Lord Fowl." And there's a bunch of books in this series. And it it vascalates back and forth between him and this world. And then he'll wake back up in our world and be like, "What the [ __ ] Was that all a dream?" But eventually he starts meeting other people in the fantasy world from our world who also have like there's a guy who's blind but in that world he's blind in our world but in that world he is like a general a war general because he has this kind of like magical vision to see you know more [ __ ] than the average

person can see. And the one tree is one of the books in that series. Chronicles of Thomas Covenant is what the series is called if you're interested. Um don't get me started. McKenna Hickey 9467. You think M won't leave because judgment from MAGA friends? No. I She doesn't have many MAGA friends. I know she says she does, but it's like mainly online. Jules, who's been on our show, is one of them, but I don't think Jules would care, honestly. Um, I don't think it's about that. I think it's about like a personal attachment to the the identity. Um, you know, having having held that stance for at this

point a decade, I just think that it's like it's a difficult thing to just shed that instantaneously and it's it's taken her some time to even get to this point. Abby Kane Cook, do you think MAGA thinks they'll ever get anything reciprocated for their loyalty to Trump? It's like they're waiting for participation awards. Yeah, my I mean, [ __ ] my mom when Trump got reelected uh this this past time. Um both my mom and my dad were like 100% sure that he was going to send everybody checks for $2,500 or whatever. Where the [ __ ] is that? You know, they are 100%

waiting for that. Waiting for a direct reward from Trump for voting for him. Obviously, it's never coming. In fact, quite the opposite. Everybody's getting [ __ ] over. And I think, you know, as as bad as it is that my dad is like undergoing some pretty gnarly health [ __ ] right now, um I think it's been good for my mom overall to see how dysfunctional the American health care system is, even for somebody like my parents who have, you know, in quotes insurance. It has not been easy for them to navigate this. And uh, you know, I think that's been very eye openening for

both of them. Honestly, I don't think it has changed my dad's mind about Trump, but I think it is like it's definitely one of the big catalysts for my mom. I think absolute Ido Chad is Rouetti and reincarnation of Bob. Um, oh, Rudy, you probably mean Well, no, cuz they were both alive at the same time. You see, Rudy was a dog that my mom and dad both had while my dad was living as he is now. Rudy is no longer living.

At least in the way time functions in this plane, it's causal. Um, it's linear. So, no. The answer is no. Jane doll, friendly reminder. We are all connected indeed. And our thoughts create reality. Indeed. Indeed. Darkness feeds on fair. On fear indeed. Positive energy is far more powerful. Indeed. So take one minute a day to imagine the world you want to live in. Indeed. Or take multiple hours per day to do deep meditations where you're trying to have an out-of- body experience so that you can travel on the astral plane and discover the secrets of reality. You can do that as well. Whatever you prefer.

Why is Why is your character have a different name? Are you going to try again and make another TV show? You're talking about the pilot that I did for ABC a million years ago, 15 years ago probably, it's got to be now, called Southern Discomfort. It was about my family. It was a sitcom. Don Johnson played my father. Mary Steinberg played my mother. Sophia Bush played my sister.

A guy named Steve Thally played me. Um, [snorts] and yes, some of the names were rearranged for a variety of reasons. Some of the executives just didn't like the uh the guy who wrote the pilot, who created the show has his name in it. Sometimes they are fine with that. Sometimes they hate it. In this case, they hated it. I think my mom's name was changed to Maggie as well because somebody didn't like Mary Lou. So, it's just like the nature of making these things. Once you sign that dotted line and you sell your little idea to a network or a TV or a studio,

they can do whatever the [ __ ] they want with it and you have no power whatsoever. I have gone through that process a million times and it always sucks. Um, so would I try again to make another TV show? Um, yeah. and and I'm actively doing that in some capacity, but probably not about my family. I think honestly the kind of art project, I've always wanted to do something with my family. I I've written a lot about them. I had that pilot that you're talking about, but I think this podcast is actually like the kind of um it's the perfected form of a a an art

project to do about my family because I'm doing it with them. And I just don't think that that that can for me anyway artistically I don't think that anything could be as fulfilling as that. Like I don't even want to write a fictional version of my family at this point because I'm getting to do the real thing which I think is fantastic. But that pilot even 15 years ago it was when Obama what that must have been his second term. He was in office when I made that pilot and even then it was like pretty I mean for an ABC sitcom it was pretty hardcore um political. You

know, the parents were like, at least the dad was super right-wing. He has some jokes in there about how he doesn't like Obama and [ __ ] Um, the kids were super liberal. It was like, strangely, it's about how it is now. Everybody was younger, obviously, but yeah. Um, thanks for watching it. I hope you enjoyed it. Uh, God, what a story. That that pilot was a a nightmare. I sold it to ABC. It was like in a bidding war. So just from the pitch, which means all networks at the time, uh, and all of them at the time were doing comedy, including Fox.

So it was CBS, NBC, Fox, and ABC all wanted to do it. They got into a bidding war, which means that they each then started to put more money behind it, money against the project, basically. So that's not money that I get. That's money that they would have to pay to the studio. And that studio was Sony if they don't make the pilot. Um, so I forget what the amount was, but it basically incentivizes them to make the pilot because they buy a bunch of pilot scripts per year or they used to. This this is not how it works anymore.

Believe me, this Hollywood is dead and will never come back. But this is how it used to be. Every network would buy about 80 um sitcom pilots. And of those 80, they would make maybe 10 or 12 like actual individual episodes. Then of those 10 or 12, they might put two or three on the air per season. Um, ordering, you know, 10 to 12 episodes of that uh, specific show. And everything else gets thrown in the trash. I've had I don't know how many pilots I've sold that just got thrown in the trash.

Dozens. Um, that season though, they made that pilot and the script that I turned in I thought was really good, really funny, really hit the kind of juxtaposition between like liberal kids who have to live at home with their right-wing parents because they can't get jobs and they don't have money. And so it's like as much as they hate their parents ideology, it's like their parents are paying for their whole life. So I just thought like the the setup of it was like funny. Not that that was the case with me and my sister. That was kind of fictionalized obviously, but um then

they were like, "Yes, we're going to make this pilot." And then about halfway through the production of the pilot, we're building our sets. We're doing rewrites on the script for their notes, blah blah blah, table reads, all this [ __ ] casting it. They I had a showrunner that I had worked with on a prior pilot. He was involved. They fired him. They brought these two guys in who wrote Smurfs. And then those two guys literally plagiarize the pilot of Family Ties like verbatim in some cases that they change the plot to like the parents want to get into a country club but the

their kids are crazy and if the people who own the country club see how crazy their kids are, they're never going to get in. And I was just like what the [ __ ] is this? Some weird '8s [ __ ] And indeed it was. I found out later they just plagiarized uh the family tight script and um they threw it in the trash. That was it. We made the pilot and they threw it in the trash. Cheers.

Welcome to Hollywood. Lily Shepard 1357, please do a beginner's guide to Magic the Gathering on your other pod. Jesus, I don't know if I even can at this point. I'm so I'm so tainted by the the twisting energies of Magic the Gathering. Could I even go back mentally to remember what it was like when I first started and try to do that? I'll I'll take that in consideration, though.

That might be kind of a fun one to do. Deer's gone wild. If every month you could pee all the pee that you had to pee out in one sitting versus having to do it for the rest of the month, total time a month's worth of pee would take you to pee in one sitting, would you? Yes. Yes. I mean, how much time does it take you to pee? Maybe 30 seconds per pee. How many of those are you doing a day? Four or five.

So, it's a couple of minutes per day. Yeah. You're looking at maybe like let's say generously an hour and a half of peeing to not have to pee at all for the rest of the month. Yeah. 100% doing that. And for everything else, I would do it for eating. I would do it for sleeping, [ __ ] um, any of the basic biological functions. If I could just knock them all out in a day and then not have to worry about it for 29 days. 100% doing that. Or I guess sleeping is different because it's eight hours a day. It's onethird of your life. So

you'd have to, you know, drip off what, like uh, maybe a week and a half roughly of just being out cold. That might suck, Natalie. Or it might be good because then you could do some weird dream [ __ ] Natalie Peterson 4181. Butterfly and skincare vids from Haley and Mary Lou would be great. Do you think Marylu and Bob feel resentment and does that influence their politics and who they blame? Resentment for I'm not sure exactly what you mean by do they feel resentment um and does it influence their politics and who they blame?

Uh, I'm not sure exactly who you might or what you might think they're resenting. I'm sorry. Um, I cannot answer this question because I don't quite understand it. My apologies. Jerry Dinger. I don't think I'll watch or I'll read the books, but I will watch that TV show when it gets done. Uh, and I'm sure I'll like it. Rafe Vorselman's. Hope I'm saying that right. highly recommend that. It's very weird, but it's very fun. You can't Well, I guess you can sleep to it. I've definitely conked out during them sometimes. They're 30 minutes long. The first one I think is on YouTube. You just need a pair of overear headphones because they use kind of like uh weird sound modulations to put your brain in a specific state. And so that book, Average American Male, was kind of a reaction to that. Um, and it was more of a writing exercise than anything. And

Involvement in the Epstein files, stealing of the money, starting wars that are not being [ __ ] confirmed by Congress, etc., etc. And so to do that, you just whatever he says, basically that's your how you refute it. So, um, you know, the the Yeah. Trump was an Epstein informant, right? I don't know if Trump made that up, but it was in MAGA. So, it's like the overwhelming

objective evidence is Trump is mentioned more times than anybody else in the Epstein files. How do you get around that? Oh, well, it's because he was an informant. It doesn't matter how true that that thing is or even seems, as long as you have it, you can say it and move on. And it allows the magind to just disconnect from the reality that is Trump very clearly was friends with Ebstein and very clearly was engaged in some real bad [ __ ] with him. But yes, that's exactly why they do it. It's it's much easier to just spit out something, no matter how delusional, than it is to

But um I always try to trap her into uh asking me what I'm doing and then I reply mic and chocolate of course because that's what Timothy Shalomé did in Wonka.

Marylu changing her opinion on healthcare only after it affected her always rubs me the wrong way. Me, too. Why can't her or MAGA care about other struggles without having to experience them firsthand? This is, in my opinion, this is the crux of the whole MAGA movement. It is about the individual and [ __ ] everybody else. And it's coded in all of the [ __ ] language for MAGA.

America first. Well, what does that mean? Everybody else second or third, fourth, fifth, sixth, whatever. It literally means you're number one. And so that gets conveyed into the mind of MAGA and granulated down to not just our country, but you as a person. And then that gets uh pushed out to like, you know, we've got so many immigrants coming across this border, illegal aliens, you know, or as my mom says, illegals. And it's like that's again that's you versus this other person whether it's um Somali immigrants whether it's people coming up from the southern border whoever it may be now it's Iran you know there trans people

there's always this idea of the other and so it's a worldview that is only about your personal experience is all that matters and as long as that is being improved by Trump by the administration then you're good And uh right now what I think a lot of MAGA are experiencing is that that's not the case. Your even your personal experience like you're seeing ICE just [ __ ] beating up people, killing people that don't look like you. But now when for my parents specifically, you're going to like the hospital and you're using your good health insurance and you're still getting [ __ ] over. Well, where was

that promise from MAGA? Where was that promise from Trump that like my experience is what matters? [ __ ] everybody else. But what about me? Um, and I I don't know why that is the case. I think there are just like this is my kind of philosophical breakdown of it. I think everybody on the planet, every human being exists somewhere on a spectrum of 100% cooperative to 100% competitive. 100% cooperative means, and nobody is either of those things. You're somewhere in the spectrum. Most people falling in the middle obviously, but closer to 100% cooperative means you will literally sacrifice your own personal well-being to help other

people. And there are some people who do that on a a much bigger scale than others. Obviously, 100% um competitive means you will forsake all other people for your own personal gain. And even when you see somebody like Trump, who I would say is very close to like 100% competitive, still he does things to make sure that his family is also benefiting. So it's not like he's not 100%. There are people in his life that he's helping even through his his uh shitty means, you know. And so I think MAGA is just like it's the people who have a kind of confluence of um they're

they're bad with media literacy, some mixture of this. Bad with media literacy, hyperco competitive, and being competitive also means selfish, greedy, all those things. More for me, less for you, zero some game. Um, and to some degree like that competition also sneaks into like xenophobia and all that other kind of [ __ ] Anything really at its core that is about like perpetuating either your ideals, your beliefs, whatever you are identity-wise over anyone else that is simply being competitive and it manifests in these different ways ideologically that you know uh we can pass like moralistic judgment on. I think for the most part

MAGA is like some version of not good with media literacy and competitive and even within MAGA I think there you vacasillate on that sliding scale too. There are some people like my mom I don't think is hyper competitive. I think she's just very bad with media literacy. So that is kind of the how she got sucked into it you know but my dad hyper competitive and bad at media literacy. people. It's because they're hyper competitive. Um, and I think personally competition, any kind of competition that isn't like expressly proxy competition, meaning pro sports or or whatever, you know, some kind of like who cares who wins the [ __ ] World Cup that doesn't actually have any impact on anything or the World Series or whatever. It's fun to watch. It's a it's a fun pastime. It's entertainment, you know, it's basically like people putting on a little play for us. Um, proxy competition, fine. Real world competition where you're talking about resources and people's lives. I just don't think we need it. I I think

we are as a species far beyond um evolved out of needing to do that. Anyway, that's my two cents. Uh, thank you very much everybody for joining me.
