Welcome to the Necessary Conversation Midweek Edition. This is me, Chad Kultgen, with my mom, Mary Lou. Oh, wearing a Kansas State hat, no less, today, huh? I did change it up a bit. I needed a new I need a new Trump hat, and I don't have one. I want the 250 um anniversary one. I can't seem to find that one. I've got my American flag one. I just changed it up. All right, looking good. Today, we're going to be going through some video clips. These midweek episodes we use, essentially, for my mom and I to present evidence to one another from the opposite side of our news bubbles that we're in to try and change the mind, perhaps, at least on one issue. Today, my clips are all about how Donald Trump is using the presidency to enrich himself. And, of course, the most recent version of this, speculation is that insider trading was done as he announced that he was not going to bomb Iran's uh electrical grid, their their power supply. 15 minutes before that announcement was made, hundreds of millions of dollars were traded against the price of oil. They shorted the price of oil, knowing that that announcement would make the price go down, and people made a shitload of money off of it. No one knew he was going to make that announcement, except him and a handful of people in his immediate circle. One of them made that bet. I think it's likely him. We're going to get to all of that. Mom, you also sent me a clip. I don't know what this is. I never watch your clips before we watch them here. But, um you also wanted to say some stuff before we begin. Oh, about the clip or what about? >> You said you wanted to say something. Oh, the other night, um I was not on uh Sunday Night Live with you and Haley. And [snorts] I feel like when I don't come on there, and then if I listen to a little bit of it later, it's like, "What? I should have been on there to uh defend myself. Mhm. So, number one, we never >> in your glasses is insane right now. >> I know, it's not good. Number one, we never beat you. Okay. >> I don't feel we beat you when you were little. What do you feel you did? We spanked you. Okay. Um number two, uh in regard to the genocide uh that y'all said that I was pro-genocide last time on Sunday's episode. >> No, my exact words, oh lord, I went back and got them. I'm not for genocide. What I am for is getting rid of the bad guys at the top so that they stop doing this to their people. Mhm. Um and I went I said kill them all, all the bad guys. What I meant is all the bad guys running the top of that country. Kill them all. Get rid of them. >> I then said, "Do you want to eliminate Iran?" And you said, "Yes, we need to." What I meant was get rid of the bad guys, okay? I don't like killing people. I don't I don't That's not me. I don't like killing people. I don't like killing children, for sure, anybody. Okay. So, my statement, I guess if I could say different, it would be kill the people at the top that are doing the harm to the people in that country. Okay. >> Because I surely don't believe in hanging three young men that just because I protested. I sure don't believe killing probably that women's soccer team that's already back there or their family members. That's not right. So, get rid of the people that are doing this stuff. There you go. >> But not in America. You're okay with these things happening in America. No, I'm not. I don't see any soccer teams being killed here Here I don't see any three young men being hung up for protesting in the street. >> Alex pretty and Rene good were executed by government officials. I don't see that that they were executed. I'm sorry, she was shot in the face. If he if if he wasn't he wasn't nurse, why wasn't he there helping people? No, he brought a gun. >> He brought a gun to help. >> that the bringing the gun argument doesn't hold water because you guys think Kyle Rittenhouse is a hero. Not only did he bring a gun to a protest, he [ __ ] killed somebody with it. I believe she was there as an agitator, had been doing it all day long. All she had to do, I keep saying this and I've thought this over in my head again and again, just get out of the car. They asked her several times just get out of the car. >> to do All the ice guy had to do was not shoot her in the face three times. All she would have to done was get out of the car and she'd still be alive. >> You're you're not understanding. You're applying this strange standard to Iran. They killed protesters. They should all be taken out. In America, when protesters get killed, you don't care. You're on the side of the government. You see how that's uh you're you have some cognitive dissonance there. I don't see it that way. No, I don't. Okay. But it's it is crystal clear. Alex pretty was killed as he was helping a protester. Rene good, you're saying she was protesting them all day. So she's a protester. They killed her. She was she was disrupting things. Okay, you don't think the three guys in Iran who got hanged disrupted things? She should have got out of the car. Those three in Iran, I don't know [clears throat] other than they were hung for protesting in the street. Okay. Anybody now in the street there is being killed. You're not seeing that in America, Chad. Yeah, it's it's all over the internet, of course. I'm not Look, you guys are also misconstruing something. I don't think and I I speak on behalf of Haley for this, too. We are not on the side of the Iranian government. I think you view it as this kind of black and white thing where it's like if you don't support Trump and his decision to go to war in Iran, that means you must be pro-Iranian government. We're not. We don't want anybody to be killed, either. We want freedom for all people. But the war that he has now waged against them First, he said it was for nuclear weapons. But he also said we obliterated their nuclear weapons capabilities. But he's sending more troops there yet today. He even said, I think today he said on TV, if I remember right, we won the war. But more troops are being sent there today. So, if we won the war, why are we sending more troops? Because there's still people at the top of that government that are not um They are killing their own people, and he's not going to let that >> Okay. go on. All right. Well, I believe that the reason he's doing this is to uh secure real estate deals, and we're going to get into that, obviously, with all of my clips. But let's get into your clip first, Mom. I don't know what this is about. Do you want to preface it in any way? No, let's just watch it. I just I believe every word that this man says, and I take everything that he says literally. I love him. He's one of my favorite podcasters. All right, here we go. And so, we have truck drivers who are here both legally and illegally who don't who don't speak English. They don't read English, and yet out of our kindness, our naivete, our stupidity, we give them driver's license, and the result is they're killing people on American freeways. And yet, we can't object because we'll feel that we're going to be illiberal. So, what is the solution? The solution is to rethink legal immigration. It should be much smaller, maybe 2 or 300,000. A number that we feel we can comfortably and easily assimilate. They must come in with knowledge of the English language. They should have some skill set so they do not become wards of the local state or federal government. And most importantly, we have to have a civic education program in K through 12 and outreach to them that explains you wanted to come to our country. We don't want to go to your country. You made the decision. You said that you wanted to give up your homeland, your customs, everything about it and transfer across the ocean to the United States. If you wanted to do that, then we can accommodate you, but it's going to be brutal. You're going to be an American citizen first and a Somali or an Indian or a Mexican or a Guatemalan second. You'll be fully assimilated. But don't come over here and then congregate in a community where you speak your native language and you break our laws and you feel that you can do so with impunity as if you're some victim on a Marxist binary of victim, victimizer, oppressed, oppressor. It's not going to work. Yes, we are a nation of immigrants. Asterisk. We're a nation of legal immigrants whose first mission upon arrival in America was to be a better American than a native-born American. And many millions were. I don't think that is the case now and the fault is not just with the immigrant, it's with us. Woah. A lot of straight racist [ __ ] to unpack there. Um okay. >> Davis Hanson. He has his own uh the pod, what's it called? The signal? Okay. Um >> let's start with the first thing he said. People who don't speak English should not be allowed to drive in this country. Right? That is correct. >> Okay. Or be Yeah, because they don't know the road signs, they don't know the signals, they can't read a sign and know which direction to go. Okay. He also said >> Hang on. Hang on. Let's take it one element at a time. Okay. Have you ever been to a foreign country where you don't speak the language, but you were able to rent a car and drive around? No. I forget who I'm asking. Well, I have. Haley has. Okay. >> Many people who travel to other countries do. We had drivers. Okay. Well, congratulations. I I've rented a car in France and drove the streets without speaking a word of French, and it was all fine. The idea that you have to speak English to be able to drive a car in America is [ __ ] insane. And all of this is part of a hardcore racist ideology that says, "This person is brown, they don't deserve to be here unless as he said in this, you renounce your culture." He said that you have to do that. You have to denounce your culture when you come to America to assimilate into whatever What is American culture to you? You want He said to be able to come into our country Mhm. to live in America and want to be here. Like want to have a job. Want to learn the language. To be able to drive a truck down the correct way on the highway. You can drive a truck the correct way down a highway without knowing English. Sorry to say it. Well, right now there's there are truck drivers that cannot um read English, do not know the language here, and they are killing people, Chad. And I know you think that's not true, but it is. I read stories all the time. >> Okay. Federal regulations require commercial truck drivers to read and speak English well enough to converse, understand highway signs, and complete reports. Drivers unable to meet the standard face immediate out-of-service orders. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So, there you go. >> Exactly. >> So, how are they getting licenses then? Who's administering the license? Your beautiful uh governor is. Go ahead and Google that. See how many of those class C, I think they're called, licenses were given out from your governor in the state of California to illegal immigrants that did not speak English or have licenses. And he's just giving >> this is like it's such a How many people have died because of this? I will have to look up stats, but some Some have, Chad. I read about them all the time, and I think how sad is that? I don't know. I I I don't know what the details are on this. I just know that that guy's video feels extremely racist to me. Oh my goodness. He is one of the greatest historians ever in our country. Everything he says just hits home with me. But but he did say one [clears throat] thing in that video that said, "If you're an immigrant coming to the United States, you have to give up your culture." Why? I don't think he said give it up. >> Yes, he did. Because you're coming into our country to be an American. You're coming here because you want to be here. Great. >> You want to get >> do you have to give up your culture? Because you're going to be an American. You're going to be an American citizen. That's why. >> Okay. Why do you have to give up your culture to do that? Just like my grandmother that came over through Ellis Island, she was a Let's see. Her background would have been Russian Polish. Let's see. No, she would have been She was Russian. Okay. And then my other side were Polish. And did she speak Russian? Yes, she did. Okay. Did she make Russian food? Yes, she did. She didn't give that up. But guess what? >> up her culture. She was a bad American by this guy's She became a United States citizen. Yeah. She worked in the United States. >> Right. She got a social security card. She got a driver's license. She knew the language. Right. But she didn't have to give up her culture. This guy The The driver's license thing aside, let's focus on what he's really talking about. It's the idea that when you come to America, you have to renounce your entire identity to be born again in this new version of whatever the [ __ ] he thinks an American is or what you guys think an American is, which is basically a white person. That's That's what he's getting at here. He didn't talk anything about the color of anyone's skin, and neither have I ever, Chad. So get that out of your thinking, please. All right. But the people he brought up were Somalis, Mexicans. Well, He's not talking about Swedish people coming here. They're not They don't They are not learning the language. They are not assimilating to become a United States citizen. There There are some um [ __ ] Somalis are here to tear us up. Okay. There are some of those people that come into our country for years and never get a citizenship ever. And they don't want to. They would rather get on our government, have our government pay for everything. And like he said in the clip, those are the people that should not be here. They're just coming for handouts, for freebies. And for 20 years want to stay here and get everything for free. Yeah. Well, uh I guess we're not going to see eye to eye on this one. I just don't No. I don't think anybody who comes to this country to be a citizen has to give up their the culture that they grew up with or that is from their native country. I don't even think they have to learn English. Probably a good idea, but you don't have to. >> We have Google Translate now. That's why we have people, Chad, in the Democratic cities and the blue cities now that are burning the flag of America. They want They're trying to push us out to assimilate to them, and we're not going to do that. Who You think it's the goal of any immigrants who come to the United States to push Who's us, first of all? Yes. >> United States. United States. >> No, when you're saying push us out, that they are coming here to push us out. Okay. Dad's yelling. >> on the podcast or not? No. No. Um I just watched a clip >> Who is us? Your shit's stacking up pretty high. >> [laughter] >> Okay. Don't >> Who is us in this scenario? Um people that have US citizenship. That That speak our language. That have jobs, social security cards. That's us. The United States. The United States of America. And so, when you're saying people immigrants come here to become US citizens to have all those things you just talked about, who are they pushing out? They're creating a situation. >> They're I think >> it up, you stupid [ __ ] Okay. Don't listen to him. What What's he I can't even hear what he's saying. Something about stupid [ __ ] I heard that. Like I just watched a clip today where in Richardson, Texas, I think >> Uh-huh. um where, you know, they now they have their own churches. They have Okay. Hang on. You're doing it again. Who is they? Somalians. um Muslims, Somalians They're going to blow you up one of these days. Dad said they're going to blow us up one of these days. But you have this idea in your head of us versus them, right? That's exactly right. >> Well, I believe if you come into our country because you love America, you will learn our language. I understand, but you said >> you don't If you don't want to assimilate, if you don't want to become a US citizen, if you don't want to work jobs here, and if you don't want to get your social security card, do it the right way, why come to America? Why are you coming here? People do want to do that. Mhm. You said they are coming here to push us out. Once again, who is they? Who is us? It's the people that won't assimilate to become a US citizen. Okay. When you say assimilate to become a US citizen, you can become a US citizen without assimilating. You don't have to give up your culture. You can't if you don't know English. >> Yeah, you got to learn some English, pass the test, all that [ __ ] of course. >> That's right. That's what you just said about not learning the language. >> Did he just say turn off the computer? >> [laughter] >> You just said that you shouldn't have to learn English coming into America. >> I don't think that, but you're you're saying this whole different thing that like Are you saying all immigrants come here and want to not learn the language, not in quotes assimilate, and push us out? >> of them. Some of them do, but some of them don't. If you don't learn our language, then you can't become a US citizen because I have friends that cannot speak English very fluently. And he cannot get his citizenship yet until he learns the language a little bit better. He hasn't been here very many years. I don't believe that they should be able to stay here for like 20 30 years and not become a citizen. Okay. Well, we don't see eye to eye on that. Let's move on. >> okay. To our next topic. This is We've talked a lot on on uh this show in various capacities about how much money Donald Trump is making from being the president and you guys don't seem to have a problem with it. What did you say? >> deny that he's making it. You guys don't >> How much money do you think he's made? I think you told me 2 billion, 1 billion something since he became president. And you're fine with that? Sure. >> Yeah. Okay. Do you know how he's made the money? Probably on like the gold bars, the watches, the cologne, stuff like that. >> His trust is making Okay. >> He got to make a living somehow. How else is he going to live? >> for you here that is going to outline how much money he's made and how he did it. Here we go. >> Okay. How much money has Donald Trump pocketed from the presidency since his second election? We did the math. This stack of bills represents 83,730 dollars. That's the median household income in the United States. Keep an eye on these green stacks. Let's start with the licensing deals. >> Who's that man? >> Foreign companies, often with the involvement of their governments, are paying to use the Trump name on buildings. And the timing is often suspicious. About a month after the Trumps broke ground on this project outside of Hanoi, the administration agreed to lower its threatened tariffs on Vietnam. No fan of those. Then, there's Melania. Here we go again. He's plugging his wife's documentary. >> The Trumps are pocketing 28 million dollars for the documentary. Amazon paid significantly more than competing bids and far more than the company had paid for similar projects. But, Jeff Bezos has many reasons to curry favor with the administration, from space and defense contracts to antitrust regulation. Then, there's the lawsuits. ABC News >> Meta, Paramount >> YouTube has agreed to pay more than $24 million. >> $16 million. >> $25 million. >> Why is Elon paying Donald Trump $10 million? None of these lawsuits were justified on their merits. But, rather than face off with a vengeful president in court, these companies settled, and Trump made over $90 million. The Pentagon says it has accepted that Boeing 747 jet from Qatar. >> us a free jet. Thank you very much. Trump plans to take the $400 million gift from Qatar with him after the presidency, and he seemed to acknowledge that it would change how he treated the country. They're going to be protected by the United States of America. But, the family's biggest cash cow is crypto. People hoping to influence federal policy, including foreigners, can buy Trump's family coin and effectively transfer money to the Trumps. These deals are often secret, but a few have become public. Like last year, a UAE investment firm announced a $2 billion deal with the Trump firm. Two weeks later, the president gave the country access to advanced computer chips. The Trumps have made at least $867 million through various cryptocurrencies. Altogether, Trump has pocketed over $1.4 billion. That's 16,822 times the median US household income. And here's the thing. We made this estimate using publicly available records. So, this figure is a minimum, not a full accounting. Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country. Presidents are supposed to serve the people, not themselves. When decisions are made based on what's best for the president's pocketbook, the government is no longer for the people. All right. What do you think of that? I don't see any of that that is um not okay. Like, is any of that illegal? No. >> Yes. Accepting gifts as bribes from a foreign country is illegal, but the Supreme Court has said Donald Trump can't be charged with anything ever because he's the president. So, he's now doing all of this. I don't see any any of that wrong. Um He's He's accepting bribes. That cryptocurrency thing, you saw that in the end. So, he took $2 billion in cryptocurrency from UAE. Bob, hush. Dad said you play crypto. Lock him up. Lock Chad. >> [laughter] >> I don't know what he's rambling. He needs to go into REM sleep, please. Um the UAE gave him $2 billion or whatever in cryptocurrency. He then the next week gave them access to all of these high-level AI computer chips. That's what you said, yeah. So, that's a straight bribe. What about I I can't I don't want to say what about. I I really don't see anything wrong with this. If it was something wrong, he would go to prison. They would get him now and he'd go to prison. Who would bring the charges against him? The Democrats? No. Who runs the DOJ? The Democrats. No. Pam Bondi. No. What are you talking about? Pam Bondi runs the DOJ. Everybody under her are They're all installed by Trump. There are no Democrats in there. What are you talking about? I think he's just a very smart business man and you're upset. I'm not I'm not upset over any of that. I was more upset when um Biden just downright took 30 million from China and then denied all that and he handed that down to his family. I see >> Yeah, no, let's let's go on that. Let's let's go on that path. >> he was pardoned. He pardoned himself and all his family members. >> Let's go on that path. Right. >> Biden took $30 million from China. Right. >> Right? You're pissed about that. >> That's all we know. That's all we know. I just showed you a video. Trump has made 1.4 billion. >> I saw that. Do you know how much bigger than 30 million that is? Yes. Okay. A billion is a thousand million. >> You know, in regards to money, the dollar amount, I mean that is bigger than what Biden did, but it's money is money. Oh, so $1 is the same as 1.4 billion? No. You know what I'm saying. >> No, I don't. The amount matters here. No, it doesn't. $30 million was Oh my gosh, I wish she would be quiet. Okay. So you're going to dismiss all of this. I And no president has ever done anything close to this in the history of the country. Not close. >> How about the Obamas coming to the into the presidency? Okay. How much money How much money do you think Obama made while president? I I don't know. >> from Netflix. Dad said he got 80 million just to learn from Netflix. >> After he was president. Right. This is while Trump is in office. He is using the office to get money from other people, to accept bribes. Well, then when he gets out of office, if this is all so bad, then they should prosecute. I agree with you. They should be prosecuting him now, but Pam Bondi's not going to do that. We'll see what happens. You're going to dismiss all of this. Let's take a look at a couple of other things. >> please. I'm sick of you. Please. Please. Shut up. What what is he [ __ ] doing? He needs to be quiet. Please. Okay. >> Okay. So, this is a clip that was from last April. Um this is when Trump openly manipulated the stock market. Here we go. >> Okay. Trump told his followers on Truth Social it is a great time to buy 4 hours before he lifted his tariffs. Is this insider trading? On Wednesday morning as the stock market continued to crash, President Trump took to his platform Truth Social to offer a piece of a financial advice. This is a great time to buy DJT. He posted this at 9:37 a.m. Less than 4 hours after this message, Trump announced a significant policy shift, a 90-day suspension of nearly all of his tariffs, sending stocks surging. By the close of trading, the S&P 500 had soared 9.5% recouping roughly $4 trillion or 70% of its losses from the previous 4 days. This series of events raised questions about the timing of Trump's initial post and whether he was already considering the tariff pause when he encouraged stock purchases. When asked whether he knew when he would lift the ban, he gave a vague answer. He said, "I would say this morning. Over the last few days, I've been thinking about it. Fairly early this morning." Further complicating the narrative is the use of Trump's initials, DJT, which also represent the stock symbol for Trump Media and Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social. This ambiguity led to speculation about whether Trump was advising buying stocks generally or his company stock specifically, which also saw a dramatic 22.67 increase that day. Despite inquiries, the White House did not clarify these points, only stating that the president's role includes reassuring the markets and public about their economic security. This move by Trump has split the internet. Some users have implied that there's insider trading, saying Trump tells his followers to buy stock in the morning minutes after the market opens, then announces he is pausing tariffs 4 hours later. Nothing to see here. And okay, so it's obviously insider trading, right? Like they're doing insider trading. On the other hand, some applauded Trump, saying holy [ __ ] Donald Trump told everyone to buy a couple hours before the stock market rally. This is a perfect example of always listen to Trump. Trump is never wrong. And the art of the deal. While the debate continues online, legal experts say that there is no solid evidence to suggest that Trump was seeking to manipulate markets or that he or any of his advisers acted on inside information. What do you think of Trump's Truth Social post? Let us know in the comments. Okay. Yeah. So, what do you think of that? So, that last line, who acted on all of that? Did any of his buddies make money on any of that? He made money on it. Did you not see in the video where they say the stock for his company, DJT, rose 22% on that day? He made money on it. He told everybody, great time to buy DJT. Right. >> His stock goes through the [ __ ] roof. But, >> his own stock price. If you don't believe in what he's doing and and that should never happen then. Why did that stock go up? Because he told people to buy it on his Twitter. Like Nancy Pelosi. >> Right. Yeah, kind of like Nancy Pelosi that her staff too. >> Exactly. Insider trading. I don't Yeah, they didn't prosecute her either. >> Correct. That's also bad. They should all be in jail for this [ __ ] I thought someone right now is going before uh um and making a law and trying to get the bill passed to stop that [ __ ] They're trying to stop, I think it's cryptocurrency. Um Okay. Let me see what I'm looking at. >> some It was just last week I read about that. >> to stop the president and politicians from betting on prediction markets. So, that's a different Do you know what prediction markets are? No. There are two big ones, Kalshi and Polymarket. You can bet on the outcomes of basically any anything, really, any event. Like sports, yeah. Yeah, sports, but also will the war in Iran end within a week? You can bet on reality shows, which is like absolutely insane to me because there are hundreds of people who work on those shows that know the outcome of the reality show months before it even airs, let alone uh you know, before it it concludes. So, there are plenty of people who have like super inside information on all that [ __ ] but you can bet on it. And that's what those prediction markets are. So, the >> There needs to be guidelines for that. I do believe that cuz that's not right. So, do you think Trump should be able to tweet out good time to buy my stock? Well, I mean, you can't stop him from doing that, but >> can. You You can arrest him. If you believe it, then you're going to follow him. If you don't, you won't buy. So. Huh? >> Why didn't you buy? Because I don't follow Donald John Trump on Truth Social or whatever. Right. >> And uh I'm I'm disgusted by anything that he says. Okay. So, here I've got one more clip to play for you. This is a more recent one. Now, this happened as a result of Trump saying he was not going to bomb Iran. He threatened to do it. We're going to take out your power grid or whatever he said. We're going to take out your electricity. Oil prices are [ __ ] climbing, climbing, climbing. Then 15 minutes before he makes the announcement, we're actually not going to do that. A bunch of people threw a shitload of money into the stock market to short oil, basically betting that the the value of it would decrease. Or it go down. Here's this video. Welcome back. Market watchers are concerned about potential insider trading due to an unusual surge in oil futures trading on Monday morning. Take a look at this minute-by-minute breakdown. Trading volume remained low until about 6:49 a.m. Eastern when over just a few minutes trading volume jumped almost tenfold. That spike went back down until about 15 minutes later when President Trump announced he was postponing strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure. And that caused a surge in the oil market. CBS News business analyst Jill Schlesinger joins me now. And Jill, what is your reaction to the trade jump that we saw Monday? It seems highly suspicious when you see a surge in volume on no news. Remember, we see a volume surge like this when you have announcement of attacks or maybe if we had heard something in the war zone that was going to create anxiety among traders. But here we have no news. We have traders basically betting on crude oil going down, which was kind of anti where we were going. That was sort of contra the trend. We were heading up and then all of a sudden a bunch of people voting on us going down. And then the announcement emerges. And then in fact crude oil did plunge by 10%. So it has many people watching this saying scratching their heads, "Hey, did somebody actually have information before it was public?" Now, listen, this is called insider trading. It is illegal. And under many circumstances we would see regulators pounce on this. Maybe the Commodities Futures and Trading Commission or the SEC if it were a stock. But so far they have been silent and I think that silence is deafening. And why do you think that is? Well, I think that this administration came in saying they wanted a lighter touch on the regulatory front and they are getting that in spades. So, there are two factors here. If you say the administration says "Hey, ease up on regulation." and at the same time they're basically defunding many of these regulators, whether it's the CFTC or the SEC, it leaves the people who are standing in those organizations with not a lot of power to make investigations. Look, normally this would actually trigger an investigation, we'd find out what happened and it would be a very methodical process. I think that it is actually not happening tells us that actually maybe something should be happening. And we've also seen a similar dynamic in some betting markets. Can you explain? Yeah, I mean, well, listen, I think that it is shocking that we have a free flow of information and it seems like some people have information before the rest of us do. And you heard me reference insider trading. Now, for some people of a certain age, that's me, [clears throat] Nicole. We're going to remind you that there were people like Martha Stewart who were accused insider trading 25 years ago and the regulators pounced on her. Now, she didn't go to jail for insider trading, she went to jail because she lied to prosecutors. That said, the fact that we are having information emerge, whether it's for betting markets, whether it's in financial markets, in the future, I think this really casts a shadow over people feeling like there was an unfair playing advantage. If you have information, you're an insider, you get that information, you make money. The rest of us schmoes have to just invest the plain old long-term investing way in our retirement accounts and I don't think many people are going to feel good about this, Nicole. All right, well, Jill Schlesinger, we know you'll continue to follow it for us. Thanks so much. Right. Sure. So Okay. You see what's happening there, right? I couldn't hear a word he's mumbling in the background. >> If If he wants to get in on this, he can. He knows more about this than me. We know this. He traded natural gas and oil commodities his whole life. What he was mumbling is that the big spike and then the drop, he said that happens every day in trading. He said right within the first hour hour and a half, it's either going to go up, it's either going to go down, and it is affected on things that happen in the world that day. Right. But there were hundreds of millions of dollars were put into shorting oil 15 minutes >> That happens. >> 15 minutes Hundreds of millions of dollars in the oil market >> He said hundreds of millions of dollars in the oil market is nothing. >> But this Uh-huh. This is significant because it happened 15 minutes before Trump made this statement that he's going to postpone the attack. Well, oil prices >> are going up up up up up up up up up up up. Nobody's shorting it. Then all of a sudden hundreds of millions of dollars short oil 15 minutes before it plummets. Chad, that's My God. How do they know How did you know or whoever know that they weren't even covering the shorts, which they could have? That's what your father just said. But every day, Chad factors in the world happen that make that market swing up >> hitting the table that's holding the mic. Why? If you want to be in on this podcast, come here. You have to stop hitting the table that's holding the microphone. Okay. The bottom line to all of this, the reason that I'm showing you these clips is to show you that Donald Trump is making billions of dollars by taking bribes, doing insider trading, selling crypto. And you I don't understand how you don't see that. I don't see that as insider trading. He can make statements. He's the president. You can believe him, you can not believe him. You can buy and sell your own puts, calls, whatever. And I do believe I know, I've lived with you know who for all these years. I do know that um trading does is affected daily by different things that happen. I hope you don't have your shirt going up. Oh my god. That different things um happen in the world and it does Yeah, he's going to the bathroom. It does uh affect where the market goes. Of course, but the president usually isn't one of those things that is affecting the market to enrich himself. Most presidents, I think all all presidents have given up whatever their their personal business interests are before they come into the presidency. Trump not only has not done that, he has supercharged his own business interests with all these real estate deals and the cryptocurrency and the grifting and the selling you the hats and the cologne and the shoes. >> president, he had to get rid of all those companies. He had to get out. He had to put them in a trust and they're no longer his until he and he no longer controls that until he gets out of of being president again. >> That is That is meaningless. You don't think he controls the companies that have his name on it? Not supposed to. Supposed to be in a trust doing it. Okay, but he's the one making these decisions. Yeah. Dad's yelling from the bathroom. The trust controls all of his assets. How important do you think it is to Donald Trump to be making money? Very important. But he's also making it for the United States of America, too. >> not. We have a bigger deficit now than we had when he came in. We're hemorrhaging whatever they said, a billion dollars a day into this war that there's no end in sight. He's sending more troops there now. Iran today just told them, "Fuck you, we're not taking your offer." It will end soon. I predicted 6 weeks. We're going on what? 4? >> This Sunday is it will be Dad's prediction comes to a close. Yeah, Dad's 4 weeks is up Sunday, I think. Yeah. Um the point I'm trying to make here to you is Donald Trump is very clearly enriching himself at levels we have never seen before in terms of a a president using the position to take money from other countries, from consumers, from wherever he can get it, to put his name on as many things as he can. And I think that is detrimental to him being a president because he's more concerned with doing these things, with putting his name on buildings, and just raking in billions of dollars than he is with anything else. This war is so he can make money. It's to set up real estate deals for him. He's a very smart man, Chad. He's very He's a businessman. I I don't see really anything wrong with this. Okay. Well, um I hope then you'll be okay with the next Democratic president taking bribes, manipulating the stock market, making billions of dollars, and selling cologne and shoes. I don't think there will be a next Democratic president for a long time. I think Marco Rubio is the man right now. Well, all right. Sorry. Off. Well, I guess that concludes this midweek episode. I'm I am constantly stunned by how you just don't see what is literally right in front of your face. You think he should have 16,000 times the amount of money that the average family in the United States has? He had a lot of money before coming in to be our president. >> That amount of money that I showed you in that video is just what he's made this term in a year. According to who? I I don't >> According to publicly available financial records. So, in just a year's time, he has made 16,000 times the amount of the average family, and the average American family. >> a lot of money being a president. >> No, they don't. No president has ever made this amount of money. I just like I said, I he's smart. He knows how to do this, and he's smart. >> But but don't you think that the focus of the president should not be about making as much money for himself as possible, but about turning the country into a place where we can all prosper? I think he's doing a very good job with our country right now, Chad. I really do. Financially, you >> to look back on this someday when Dad and I are gone, and you're going to look back and say, he did do a pretty good job. No one can afford anything. We're in a war that he doesn't even have a good answer as to why we're in it. Yeah. There's no end in sight. The war is going to be over very quickly. I don't believe that. >> ICE agents are making waiting I mean, you said this past Sunday, you thought ICE agents in airports were going to make waiting shorter. That didn't happen. Oh, I'm so glad you brought that up. Please be quiet. I'm so glad you brought that up. Uh I I had a friend fly today from Houston to OKC. I told her to get in uh at Bush at least 4 hours early. I said on TV they said it's kind of bad. You need to get there 4 hours early. When she got there, she showed me pictures, ICE agents, plus some TSA, and guess what? 1 hour to go through security and she said they were the nicest people. And she made it. >> And I guess that's it. I guess that means all the ice agents are doing everything right and Trump's doing great. >> That's right. You had one friend who got on a flight that only took an hour to get on. That's right. Okay. Well, thank you everybody for joining us. Thank you for doing this mom. I'm stunned still that this is meaningless to you. Um the cult is strong. There's no other way to put it. Yeah. We'll be back on He should have been in REM sleep cuz today was ridiculous. I should have went in the other room, but I was afraid we wouldn't upload enough quickly. So >> Yeah, I mean he's just yelling in the dark. Nobody's even talking to him. I know. >> [laughter] >> All right. Well, thank you for joining us everybody. Mom, I do love you for doing this. I I really thought today I was going to get some reaction out of you other than blind loyalty to your cult leader, but that was not the case. Uh we'll be back on Sunday with another episode. Hopefully the full family, maybe a guest as well. Okay, love you Chan. All right. Thanks for joining us. We'll see you soon. Bye.
