Hi. Hello. Thanks everybody for joining me, everybody who's in here right now. Um, still kind of experimenting with what this live is going to be, what it's going to look like, etc., etc. But, uh, I'm going to answer any questions that you may have here if I can about today's episode or any other episodes for that matter, whatever you may want some answers to. Hello everyone. I see. Hi Chad, I'm stoked for this live show. Let's Let's try this out. Okay, interesting. So, that pops that up like that. Pretty cool. I'm using some uh software that I use on my other podcast, Game of Roses, which is about reality television. Hello everyone. Uh oh god, it's going too fast already. I was seriously expecting Maryl to start describing Trump when uh this is Laura Zagelmeer 6209 says I was seriously expecting Marylu to start describing Trump when asked to describe God. I mean there was a piece of me that thought that might happen as well. I'm glad it didn't. But um oh my god no. Paul Cast says Chad definitely talk about your parents sex life if you watch today's episode. Uh, you saw that my dad was essentially protesting the show. He did not show up on the show today because he was enraged or um offended in some way at the joke that I made in the last live that I did last week about the possibility that the reason for him being cheerful and not a complete [ __ ] like usually uh was that I thought maybe my mom had sex and now my parents are pissed at me for that. So, that'll be fun. Um, oh, this is an interesting one for for real. Kraka79 says, "Hey Chad, when will Dudesy return?" I don't think ever. My apologies. Um, Megan Menes says, "There have to be some pit people in here." And I did see some uh some talk about what is the pit? Basically, are you a pit person? The pit is kind of the collective name we have given to the psychological state you find yourself in. If you are obsessed with some reality show, specifically for us, it's The Bachelor. That's my other podcast that I do called Game of Roses. Enjoy that. If you like reality TV, check it out. Um, even if you don't, maybe check it out because I do think for what it's worth. Reality television, and I said this on today's show, reality TV, I think, is the most important media being created in this country, maybe in this world at this point, because it's so accurately reflects the world we're living in. All surface, no substance. It's telling a lie and getting as many people to believe it as you can. Hence the fact that we have a reality TV show performer as the president of the United States currently. Jordan Evans music says, "I saw you'd like to anime. Have you seen read Vinland Saga? You would love it. I became a pac pacifist from the story. I started it a long time ago and I can't even remember it, but I'll get back to it." I know that's that's kind of like a cornerstone one. So, um Oh, Jesus Christ. The chat is too it's too heavy. Um, okay. Here's one that's kind of interesting. Elias WW2331 says, "Does Maryl realize sweet like cavities has a negative connotation?" I don't know if she does or not. Um, but it does. I agree. Calm down and relax says, "What are all of your careers?" My mom was a high school tennis coach and a elementary school physical education teacher as well as a substitute teacher for many years. Um my dad always worked in finance to some degree. He started out as just like a um uh what are they called? Tax preparers, but they have a different name and now I can't it's escaping me. Um but he started out doing taxes at a a company that does taxes. Then he got a job as kind of like the right-hand man for a oil and gas guy in Kansas. Then he got a job in that same kind of position for a bigger oil and gas guy in Texas. We moved to Texas and he finished out his career trading oil and gas for another big kind of oil and gas guy in Oklahoma. My sister um went to fashion school or went to school studying fashion at Kansas State. Graduated. I believe she had a job briefly in that arena. Then she had a bunch of children and then she opened a bakery and she's a baker now. Uh social media superstar you could say as well. I myself have had uh many jobs in this life. When I graduated college out here in Los Angeles, I was um an assistant in various capacities at various entertainment companies and then started selling my own TV shows, movies, books. I wrote a video game at one point um and have just been kind of writing ever since. I got into podcasting with a friend of mine named Will Sasso. He used to do a podcast called 10-minute podcast. Um one iteration of it had him, myself, and another of our friends, Tommy Blotcha, who was the headwriter for the WWE for a long time and for Conan O'Brien. Um and we did that for a little while and I really just kind of like enjoyed podcasting as an art form. So then I started uh Game of Roses with my friend Lizzie Pace who is another TV writer and we talk that's where we talk about reality TV and I've been podcasting and and writing um movies and stuff ever since. Um okay, let me just scroll down to the bottom. Sorry. Jesus, there's so many comments. I'm so sorry. Um this is an interesting one. Sean James FL says, "Have you thought about sending your parents the clips early so they have better time to prepare arguments that you can then tear apart? I was wondering if it would change their canned responses. Um, most of the clips that I play I think are like clips they've probably already seen because they're kind of big like news clips or they're going around the internet or whatever. the stuff that my mom hasn't seen, I don't like showing it to them earlier cuz I want to see her like genuine reaction in the moment when she's seeing, you know, uh, like an ICE officer kidnap somebody or whatever. If she hasn't seen that clip, it's to me anyway, it's interesting to watch the effect that clip has on her in real time as she's seeing it for the first time. Uh, uh, oh, this is interesting. Cynthia Sex says, "Just recently realized I knew you from your guest appearance on Chatty Broads. Just went back and watched the DND episode." Wow. Chatty Broads. Um, that is a blast from the past. We loved them and now we love your mom and dad, which is one half of Chatty Broad's podcast. Um, Jess Ambrose and her husband. And yeah, that D&D episode was wild. My co-host on my other podcast was also in that episode and she was uh putting on something of a performance. I can tell you that much. Um, yes, I'm going to do this. Taylor McGee 1037 says, "Can you ask your mom for a backyard tour? Re the butterflies." 100%. Next weekend, my sister and I are descending on our parents' home. We're going to try to shoot an actual like full episode of this show in their house. And I'm I also want to shoot some other stuff with both my mom and my dad. And we'll have some little like kind of side videos and stuff up on the YouTube channel. I'm I'm hoping that my mom will give me a tour of not only her butterflies, but maybe her horses as well. Maybe we'll get to see Shiny if we have time. And I'm hoping my dad will will give us a tour of he has this um room in the house that is filled with like a bunch of Kansas State football memorabilia and paraphernalia. And uh he's got like a library of old VHS cassettes and DVDs. I hope he will give some kind of a little tour, but I'm not positive I'll be able to do that if he's still holding his grudge. Um, this is an interesting one. Susan Castello 8106 says, "They're married adults. Is there a problem with them having sex, even within their own religious standard?" I mean, that this this is how I took it. They are kind of constantly looking for anything to to pick a fight about, you know, and this just happened to be that. They feel like they're being made fun of and and um can't take the joke and so that's it. Um Esoptron Esoptron 3983 says, "Do you think your dad is actually religious?" Absolutely not. Um okay, here's one. Do you think uh this is Apoi? I have no idea how to pronounce that one, so sorry. Do you think he was Do you think he really was pretending to be nice? This is my dad. Or did he make that up after he got mad at you? Uh oh, I just saw the little $5 thing pop up. I have no idea how any of this works. Thank you, whoever gave me the $5. Um, do you think he really was pretending to be nice or did he make that up after he got mad at you? Pretending to be No. You know what? Yes. I think it was real. I think this was a real strategy that him and my mom cooked up and were like, "We're gonna fake him out. He's gonna think that his psychic powers are working on me." Um, but they didn't. If I click on this, what happens? Okay. Oh, here we go. So, for this Okay, now I'm seeing this. This is from Michael Pearson 7653. Can I click on it? How do How does this work? I can't click on it. But the question from Michael Pearson 7653 is, "Does the DC shooting feel like a false flag to you?" I I was going to ask this question of my my family today to see what they thought. You know, it's like I don't know what is the point of it if it is to give Trump some reason to be able to claim martial law. I mean, I know he's sending in 500 more troops, so he's like beefing that up. Um, but it also kind of flies in the face of Trump's claims that DC is now crime free. We just had a a shooting of two National Guard members in broad daylight. So clearly he can't make that claim anymore that he's cleaned up DC and it's it's crime free now. Is it a false flag? It's like I don't know, man. It there's so much about everything Trump does that is Artifice that is the reality TV show like that assassination attempt. I am at this point pretty much on the side of that whole thing was faked. Uh obviously not the whole thing, someone died, but like Trump is fine with killing people. We're seeing that in the Caribbean. He he does not give a [ __ ] about human life. So in the um realm of possibility is is it maybe possible that that was a false flag? Maybe. I don't know. I I don't know. But even that is like a a terrible place to be in psychologically as an American where you you don't know if it's a false flag or not and you think it might be. That ain't good for us. Um all right, here's another one from earthy pagan girl. How do I put this on the goddamn screen? Can I go to it? I have no idea. It just doesn't my current comment. Well, nonetheless, Earthy Pagan Girl says, "Um, have you ever had a sound bath? I know you're into spirituality. I'm I'm an energy worker and a sound bath facilitator in North Carolina." Yes, I have. I went to one, but it was also also like a breath work one, so people are like screaming and laughing and [ __ ] in this room. And I I don't know if that's my tism or what, but that didn't do me any favors. I don't know if the the sound bath was cool, though. There were parts of it where I was like, "Oh [ __ ] I'm seeing some things." But um uh the kind of group setting I think threw me off. It's not exactly right for me. Oh my god, there's so much. Everything's stacking up now. Jesus Christ. I'm sorry. I'm gonna try to get to all this. This is from C D R. Do you think it's a sphere thing? Like the circle of who your parents care about and can empathize empathize with is small. If they could just expand it 100%. And they only care about and empa empathize with one another. Um codependency. Is that what that is? I'm not sure. Uh, okay. Here's one from Yoda St. Cloud. Have you ever quoted the Bible to your parents and asked them what they thought? Something like Leviticus 1933:334 about the treatment of foreigners. Literally, we did that in the show and I believe it was that exact quote. I think I can't remember what the exact quote was, but I read a quote to my parents to begin a show, this has got to be a month ago, maybe a little more, uh, to see if they agreed with it or not, about how how to treat foreigners. And I believe they did if I remember right. Go back and check it out. But yes, the answer is yes, we did do that. Um, oh, here's a super sticker from Mirror C1. I don't know what any of this [ __ ] is, these things. I have to read up more about how this works. Um, my apologies. Here is another one. A super sticker for $14.99. I don't know what this means. I will read up on how YouTube works. My apologies. I literally don't know how it works. Um, here's one from two is one palm-yc. Oh, [ __ ] Where'd it go? And it says, "Considered guests like a trans person to give them some exposure to ask questions." Yes, I have considered guests. I want to do that. We've had a couple. It's just like a matter of booking and scheduling and [ __ ] with trying to edit the show and get it out. It's a just a matter of time really and how much work I can put into booking. Um, I'm still looking for a therapist to come on and I've talked to a couple and I don't know it's uh we're doing the best we can with it. I think in the future we will probably have more guests. Um, here is one from can be fine. Seen Jubilee video with Medi. What did you think? I I don't know that one. Um, I like Jubilee. They make some interesting content. For those who don't know, it's like they'll put uh somebody in the center who's liberal and then have like 20 conservative MAGA followers sitting around them in a circle and they'll do this kind of like hot button, you know, first one come, first serve um debate type thing. It's pretty interesting. Um okay, I think yes. Have I done those? Is here's one from Ragenitter. Is their affluence getting in the way? They won't care till it affects them. 100%. 100%. They all they care about is like, "Well, I ain't seen that." My dad one time told me about global warming. It was snowing wherever they were living at the time. Maybe they were in Dallas. I don't remember where, but he goes, "There's snow outside my window. Where in the [ __ ] your global warming now?" So, it's it's like until their immediate little bubbles affected by something. Doesn't exist to them. Um, this is from Dawn Hill 3. Dad was mad about a joke, but they played a joke on you about the dreams, mocking you. But nothing was said about that. What the [ __ ] You and Haley. Love you and Haley. Thank you very much. That's just the way they are. And I totally agree with you. It's wild that this is how my parents are, but it's how they are. And that part of them has kind of always been there. Politics aside, uh the kind of making fun of us as kids and stuff, that was always there. Um let's see. There's this one. This is from Yoda St. Cloud again. How much of your mom's views, beliefs, do you think are based on making her life with your dad easier? Does she truly believe what she says or does she just want to keep the peace with your dad? I think she does believe what she says, but I think she has been heavily influenced by a lifetime of a relationship with my father. Um, okay. Here's from Duran Duran 509. I love Duran Duran. They were my favorite ' 80s band other than the Fix. What did your family think of 10-minute pod and Dudesy? What about the lawsuits from Dudesy? They didn't I don't think they ever listened to it or gave a [ __ ] Um, for those wondering what this may be referring to, I did another podcast called Dudsy. The concept of that podcast was that it was controlled by an artificial intelligence named Dudy. It was a comedy podcast. My friend Will and I would show up and this entity Dudesy would tell us what to say and what to do. Um, and Dudesy one time made some uh, oh my god, there's too much happening. Dudesy made some um AI standup routines for In the Voice of Tom Brady and George Carlin and we got legal threats and stuff like this from it, but everything's fine now. Um here's space sim streams. My grandma thinks just like Bob. Do you have any advice on how to communicate with her? Seems like a lost cause, but she wasn't like that before a stroke. Did anything prompt Bob's politics? I don't have any good advice. I'm stumbling through our own show the best that I can, you know, trying to um How can I put these on screen? It kills me if they pop up there. I have to figure this out better. I'm so sorry. But I will, rest assured. Um yeah, I don't have any good advice on it. Um unfortunately, I wish that I did other than to like just keep trying to talk to her, I guess, if it's important to you. Um here's Caramel Cobru says, "Chad, your sit is full. Come on. Maverick S says, "Hey, just a quick question. Would you be able to ask how they do Imagine Canadians feel about everything happening for a future show?" We did a show called, it might have been called Canada or something. There was a show that we did where we talked about how my dad envisioned Canada becoming the the next American state or whatever. And he had no good ideas obviously and and clearly hadn't thought it through, but we did talk about this. Um, here is Dan doing things. Hey Chad, sorry super off topic, but will we see another podcast with you and Will in the future? Miss Dudy, I miss dudesy, too. How do I get these to I don't know what I'm doing here. I don't I don't know. The answer is I don't know. Will's very busy. He's on a TV show now doing his thing. Um, here is Adventurous Gold. Conspiracies and spiritual thinking makes one vulnerable to fascism. What are your own strategies to avoid falling into this trap? Love the show. I mean, I don't know. I'm a little younger than my parents, so I think I'm a little more immune to um the propaganda from the various channels that it has created and and perpetuated, but I also think I generally just have an idea about the fundamental nature of reality that is like I don't think any of this is actually real. And I'm not talking about simulation theory necessarily, but I think that, you know, whatever the the base fundamental reality is is not this. And uh that allows me to kind of like have some separation from it, I guess, in my own life. Um Yoda St. Cloud says, "Do you ever worry about fallout from your parents extreme comments with info like addresses so easy to find online? Have you considered taking steps to help ensure their safety?" To the best of my ability, yeah, you know, trying to like get their their name and address off the internet as much as I can and stuff, but um I don't know. I suppose that's anybody uh who who um you know is doing YouTube channel or is in in public life in any way runs into that problem. Um let me see. Okay. Marsh 6584 says recently started a challenge. I start my walking pod walking pad at one time speed. Then every time Marylu and Bob says something outrageous or attacks someone else someone I click faster by 0.1 speed. Uh zero pauses. I'm sprinting by the end. Happy to be part of your fitness routine. That's [ __ ] wild. That is really um very crazy. Uh okay, I think I've hit all of these. My apologies if I missed any of these um ones that are in here that people are making donations for. I'm trying to hit them all. Here's one. Have you ever asked your parents? This is from Diego K7E9L. Have you ever asked your parents to describe the key points of Germany's rise to power? Specifically, the taxes used to brainwash everyone. We have talked a little bit about the parallels between Trump and and Hitler's Nazi Germany. Um, but we've never gotten into it like super granular. Uh, but we have talked about some of the parallels for sure. Let's see. What is this one? Oh [ __ ] Is that Hi, Chad. This is from A Braxen. Hi Chad. Any plans to get guests onto the podcast? Love to see you guys collab with uh Godless Granny, a lefty boomer, content creator, etc., etc. Yes, we've had a couple of guests. Um, we had Gilis Neros, who's a a sitting congressman currently. He we did a whole episode with him and we had a guy who was the ex director of the Florida Republican Party came on as well. And I am trying to line up some more guests also. Um, here is one from Cedar R. I don't know if I'm pronouncing that right. I've tried to send a video question but keep running into problems, but it's basically, can you make them define now what their point of no return is? Like with like with EP is knowing about the girls in adult trafficking. My my dad has no um point of no return. There there is none for him. I I think he's completely gone. My mom has said that if Trump is in the Epstein files, that's gonna be a line too far for her. That's and I don't know if she'll maintain that. You know, we'll see cuz I think those files are going to come out. I mean, look, they're redacting those files, too. And like they're taking his name out of it, but are they going to catch it all? We just saw they released some of them and the Republicans accidentally doxed victims, so that ain't good. Um, but that ineptitude is actually it gives me some enthusiasm about the possibility that his name may still be in these files. And my mom has said if that is the case, she's done with him. Will that be uh true? I don't know. Dan Doing Things says, "Will pizza the movie ever be made?" Dan Doing Things Pizza is being made now. I'm doing it already. I don't know when it'll be out. when it'll be ready for public consumption. Um, but it will be. Oh, Abraxen says, "You got my name's pronunciation right. Good job. Thank you very much. I do what I can do." Here is one from Fyac. You want to lead them logically, but you jump too far. She says she dislikes one thing and you leap to her being anti-Trump. She will never follow that. I'm doing my best. I don't know how to do this. I'm just having this conversation with him trying to get through to her. But I think in today's episode, she really did have multiple moments where she was like, uh, you know, questioning him when she held up that piece of paper. If you haven't seen today's episode, this is a spoiler. I asked my mom about the um the Honduran ex-president who was serving 45 years in American prison for drug trafficking that he is now saying he's going to pardon. And I asked my mom, "Why do you think he's doing that when he's so tough against drugs in in the Caribbean and all this other stuff?" And my mom held up a piece of paper with a literal [ __ ] question mark on it. She doesn't know. And I think that like the more we can get to those things where she can't piece together any kind of logic behind what Trump is doing other than horrendous corruption. I I feel like that's the way to it. It's it's like a tonnage issue. You know, if every week we can get her to at least question one thing, I think maybe that pulls her back from the brink. I don't know. Oh my god, this is a great question. Uh, this is Laura Zagelmmeer 6209. Can we have an episode or segment about the previous predictions that have been made? Yes, I am coming up with that very quickly. I think very soon. Um, it's uh I just look back through the document that I keep that had all those predictions in it. There are some [ __ ] insane ones that my dad made. And so I do want to try and put that episode together in the very near future. Um, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry. This is from Scrawn Diggy. Hey yo, Chiao. Love the show. Any new grill or orb recipes? I'm still I ate the grill today for lunch. I'm still eating the grill. The grill is this kind of like vegetable stew recipe that I made when I was going through cancer treatment and reading all these books on what kind of nutrition and stuff is is good to fight cancer recurrences and uh no new orb recipes but yeah I I do do some um some grl um this is from Anthony Cordedo 91. Do you think that the Epstein files weren't released sooner because Merrick Garland trying to maintain the integrity of the case against Golain Maxwell? I mean, I'm kind of with my mom on this. I think they weren't released because people at the highest levels of power across all political spectrums are going to be implicated and it's going to ruin their lives and I think they all are trying to keep it at bay. Um, we ain't got no milk 2011 says, "I need to send a super to you, Chad. I don't even know what a super is. You and Haley are amazing. I commend your parents uh for doing the show at the very least except for your dad today. Yeah, he did. He bailed. Thank you for the super. I'm not sure what that is. This is great. Can you sk This is from Yoda St. Cloud. This is great. Can you schedule one where Mrs. Pop Off can join you? She's awesome. Oh, that's my sister Haley Pope. Yeah, I'll see if she'll if she'll uh come into this for sure. Here is one that says, "This is from Space Simps. Question from my boyfriend. Why does it seem like you're using the podcast to get through to Marylu instead of debating your different beliefs? Cuz I I just don't think like, as I'm sure we all in this entire country know at this point, there is no you're not going to win them over. You're not going to change their mind through debate. It's going to have to be, in my mom's case, something that Trump does that is beyond the scope of her understanding of who he is as as a kind of entity. There's nothing I will be able to say in like a logical format that will change her mind. So, for me, the podcast like a big component of it, it's about a lot of things. For me, obviously, it's my family. There's a lot of personal stuff um involved. But for me, it really is about just maintaining contact with my parents so that, you know, I can kind of help facilitate that transition when it happens for my mom because I do think it's going to happen. Like, I'm I'm pretty firmly convinced, especially after today's show. She just had so much stuff that she was like um questioning about him, you know. Um, here is one from Anthony Credto again. Oh, we already did this one. The Epstein file. Sorry about that. Let me go down here. There's the super. I'm so bad at this. Uh, here we go. Here's one from M Fowler official. How do you think your parents would feel about a much younger president? They are always complaining about Biden is what's for real. And there's some [ __ ] now. I don't know if you guys are watching all these videos that are coming out with Trump where he can he's stumbling around barely able to walk. There was a [ __ ] picture that just got leaked of him yesterday or the day before at Mara Lago. He's sitting at a table like in the the um restaurant there literally like like asleep at the goddamn table. So, I think my parents would be down with it. There's like nothing you can say to deter their idea that Trump is like in perfect health and all of this. But I do think we all recognize like he's too [ __ ] old. So was Biden. We all recognize that. I think they would be totally down um with a younger president. But I also am like I've just never seen my parents be this uh fueled by like a political identity ever in their lives. So I do think when Trump is out either via death or voting out or whatever, I think they're done. I don't think they'll have this level of enthusiasm for anybody ever again in their lives, personally. Um, okay. Sorry. Let me just get to these here. Whoa. Shelley M318, does your dad suffer from ED? That I don't know. I'm I don't know. I don't even want to answer this. This is a terrible question. I'm not doing that. Okay. Hey, Dan doing things says, "You should make a second channel going over your daily life and such." I'd subscribe to that for sure. If only I had the time. Um, Soul Aperture says, "Chad, has your dad always been like this? Do you think the MAGA boomers are the victims of lead poisoning?" My dad has always been mean and adversarial. The the kind of like political infusion only really came about during Obama. This is from Avery Sawyer, 3985. My parents were trying to tell me how great abolishing the Department of Education is today. states rights and I cannot understand their logic. Totally agree with you. Um I'm not like huge in in um you know government interference in in our daily lives and all this kind of stuff but like the all of these different things department of education all the things that they're basically destroying. USA ID all of it um these things they serve functions they do make the world and our country I mean USA ID obviously is helping all over the world but like department of education is in this country it makes things better. That's why they exist. And yes, they're mired in bureaucracy just like all uh you know government departments are but it's better to have them than not and to to somehow fall prey to the mentality that is literally being designed by the Republican party that these things should be done away with or the EPA or the FDA or any of that. Wild to me. I don't get it. Uh Karen F6174, thank you for the super sticker. Um um um. Okay, here we go. D Mooneyca324 says, "Why does your mom think Trump was FBI informant cuz they're selling that [ __ ] on Newsmax and she's buying every goddamn drop of it." That that's primarily where she gets all of this [ __ ] from, you know. Um here's something from Swisho. It would be cool to show them clips from old episodes. Oh god, I want to do this so bad. Like I watched an old episode and Mary Lou said that they want Biden six feet under, but now she says if you wish death on Trump, you deserve to be arrested. I want to do this so bad. It is just a matter of time. Like I cannot go back through all of this [ __ ] and sift. I'm literally the one doing all of this, you know? I don't have an editor. I have no one else helping me do any of this. I'm posting all the clips. I'm cutting all the clips. I'm cutting the show, etc., etc. Um, if I ever get to a point where I can hire somebody else to come in and and take over some of that, um, definitely I want to start putting together shorter episodes where I'm showing my mom and dad clips of themselves from prior episodes because we've been doing the show for three and a half years now. Um, we have a lot built up. Um, this is from Heather B2131. Are you willing to share your spiritual beliefs and sending messages to your father in his dreams in further detail? It sounds fascinating. Uh, yeah. I this is like I used to be a complete materialist up until maybe six or seven years ago. Maybe cancer had something to do with it. I'm not sure. But I don't think so because I was kind of getting interested in this prior to that. I think those were just kind of uh coincidental occurrences. But um yeah, I just have become very interested in these kind of like experiences that we all have that are related to human consciousness that science cannot explain. The most rudimentary or I should say the most common place of that obviously is dreams. We all have them every night. no one knows what the [ __ ] they are, but they feel real to us in some cases. And so it's like, shouldn't that be uh explored? And so I've just been reading a lot of books and stuff about um astral projection, the nature of human consciousness. There's a lot of stuff going on in in quantum theory right now that kind of links science into this more woo woo [ __ ] So, I don't know. I'm just reading as much as I can, doing some weird experiments in my own brain to see what comes up, seeing a few entities here and there. It's fun. Um, this is from Artemis 768. What was your parents reaction to the cancellation of Paula Dean? God, did we talk about that? Did that happen while we were doing the show? I want to say it did. I don't remember when it happened, but my they were pissed. They were definitely pissed. I think we talked about that on in an old episode that may be available only in audio from C. Da. I'm always amazed that you and your sister's ability to stay calm when your parents say crazy illegal [ __ ] I'd be pulling out my hair. It's from a lifetime of it. We literally grew up with it. So, it's just kind of second nature to us. Um Laura Lynn Martin says, "Trump wasn't asleep." He was thinking, "Sure." Uh Pin Monkey 1976, a very good year. My father-in-law would get along with your folks. He's a devout Mormon. How much did religion predispose your mom and dad to Maggus cultlike behavior? I don't think at all. They weren't religious. Um really like we went to church and stuff as kids. Had to go to Sunday school. I was not confirmed. We we were Catholic. I was not confirmed. My sister was not confirmed. Um you know, we stopped going to church when I was maybe 10 or something like thisish, maybe even a little younger, eight. It was never a big part of our lives until now. For some reason, they they're claiming like, "Oh, I'm so religious now." So, I don't know. I don't think it affected them at all. And I think what they're doing now is a little bit of an act. Angie Droy says, "On your visit home, can we get Mary Lou to join you in a Slamama corner?" Slamama is Secret Lives and Mormon Wives. It's a show that I am absolutely in love with, and I've been watching it on our our other podcast, Game of Roses. There's absolutely no way any of my family will watch it with me. Um, this is from Brainless Bread, 1794. Do you think your parents care about the drugs addicts as much as the boats? Hell no. Absolutely not. They want death. They want destruction. This is from Recreational Knitting podcast. Does your dad have any friends? Does your dad have be any friends? I think any friends. Are they as awful? Is he rude to waitresses? Um, I don't know if he's rude to waitress. I don't think he's leaving the house. So, I don't think he's rude to anybody in the world because I don't think he goes in the world anymore. Does he have any friends? That I'm not sure about. He used to have like work friends, you know, but he retired about three years ago now. Um, a little less maybe. So, I don't know. I'm not sure if he has friends or not, but God, I mean, I imagine they would have to be ideologically very aligned with him to maintain that friendship. From Dakota Williams 4981, if you do have a guest, would you consider listeners? I work for the DoD in DC and I'm from the same area where your parents live and could provide real truths about all the military facts Bob uses. This Dakota Williams, this is part of the problem of trying to book guests. I would love to have somebody who has these credentials, but I've got to vet you and figure out if that's real and [ __ ] you know? I can't just like throw somebody on the show. Um, that's why in the the kind of first incarnation of trying to get guests, I was trying to get people who hold current public office because that's very easy to see like, well, yes, that is that person or not. Um, I think I I don't know. The answer is I don't know. I'm still trying to figure out what the guest component of this will be and uh hopefully hopefully I will figure it out soon. Space Sream says, "Would you ever do a live show? I'd love to debate your parents bureaus." Holy [ __ ] [ __ ] Sure. Uh, the problem with that one is getting my dad to be able to go anywhere. I I don't know if I mean I guess if we did in Oklahoma maybe. I have no idea. That seems like a very big task, but I would try to do it. I would try to do it. Um, this is from Diego K7E9L. I think it would be really interesting to make them go over points of Germany's tactics on this show. Scapegoating, demonized. All right, we get it. You're into Germany. It blew my mind to hear their view on unlawful orders. I agree. Um, I I just don't know that we have like time to go into that type of [ __ ] specifically unless it is related to some like contemporary news thing cuz my parents don't have I think like kind of the attention span to go into a subject that isn't being like thrown in their face by Newsmax. But but possibly possibly. Um, this is Swisso says, "I'm a well-known doc editor. I'd be happy to help." Oh, maybe. I don't know. We'll see. I don't know if I have the capacity to bring on anybody else just yet. Swisho Gavin Young says, "Are you all going to your parents next week for Christmas or specifically an inerson episode?" It's kind of like our Christmas Thanksgiving um mixed together. Um this is from Lisa Marie 8296. Pull clips from the start of the term to show mom. She said a lot of that will never happen. This has happened. I know. I have those clips somewhere. I just need to find them. Here's one um from Dan doing things. Love you Chad. Longtime listener from TMP Dudesy now here. I hope in the future to see Pizza Movie. Happy late Thanksgiving. Thank you Dan doing things. Very nice of you to say. Um okay. Here is one from two ices one palm. Oh, I don't know how to say this. Two sees one palm. I don't know. Do you ever feel like giving up on your relationship? They can be especially your dad. So cruel to you and Haley. It is hard to hear the abuse. I don't I actually I know Oprah just had this big episode where she was um talking to people who went no contact with their families and stuff and that's what the whole episode was basically about. I I just disagree with it as a strategy. I think if we want like on the macro scale, if we want this country to repair itself, there's there's crazy political division right now. It's not just like, oh, you voted for the other guy. I don't like that. It's like you should die. That's where we're at. If we want that to be solved, it cannot come from no contact. No contact means you view that person as unworthy of even speaking to. You must solve it through contact, through continued talking. I believe this is just my my two cents. You know, to each their own. Whatever works for you works for you. That's fine. I personally think that the only road to uh a better version of this country and our society is um talking to one another, but that's just me perhaps. I don't know. Um let me scroll down here. I know there's some other ones down here somewhere. God, there's so much. Um this is Swish again. If you look through the comments on the videos, Miracy has conversations with themselves. So, I'm sure they have multiple accounts. What the hell? There are people having conversations with themselves. Wait, now people are are fighting in here. Come on. Try not to fight in the comments. Um, everyone, if you can if you can help it. Please don't do that. I would appreciate it. Zero Z says, "Bob accuses you of being a communist a lot, but I'm curious. What do you think of Marxism?" I don't know. I mean, I I probably think the same thing everybody thinks. Sounds good on paper. Didn't work out too well. Um, and I I think it's true the idea that like all kind of government um systems will be corrupted by money. They and power they will all be. I think you can go into any government system, including democracy, with good intentions. Once you get there and you start saying like, "Oh, they're giving me this money and they're giving me this money. I better do what they say." You get corrupted almost immediately. Um, so I I I think like all governmental systems, it's very fallible. This is from Spearhead Global. Your dad reminds me of my dad. As a matter of fact, we both are right leaning, but he is a little too extreme, and I'm more logical, reasonable, reasonable. Um, but now it's fun. All right. Well, congrats, Spearhead Global. This is Marisy. Why do you delete comments of people who agree with Bob and Mary Lou? I don't. I literally have never deleted a comment. If your comments are getting deleted, YouTube is doing it. Um, here is one from Jay Dog World Tour. Have you guys ever filmed the podcast all together in person or will next be next week will be a landmark first time? Next week will be the landmark first time. We've never done one in person. Um, and I'm very curious to see how this one's going to go. I' I bought a bunch of little like uh DJI Osmo 3 and I've got some Nanos. So, I'm hoping that the quality of it will be good. Um, but at the very least, we'll all be in the same room. Here's one from Cold Viper 18. When you talk about dreams, you kind of imply that's really happening in some other reality. Does that mean Riley Reed is actually doing fun stuff with me? My dreams. Oh my god. I'm not sure who Riley Reed is, but I I'm sensing from the way you've written this this is perhaps a chemistry play tone. Um, no, it doesn't mean that, I don't think. Here's one from It's Not Brooks. How do you two handle the fact your parents believe abhorrent things that actively are destroying lives in large numbers? My brother and I are struggling there and it's almost identical. I I kind of view the the broad scope of the human psychological sphere, if you will, um as its own thing. Like I and and this is I don't know, maybe my own dissociation is how I deal with this. I don't know. But to me, it's like Trump isn't a person. Trump is a he's kind of like a spike in the aggressive, angry, fearful, kind of shittier um things in in like the the scope of human psychological possibility. And I think like the fact that he's named Trump or looks like he does or whatever, the identity to me is like irrelevant. So for my parents it's like yeah they believe these things but like those beliefs are just in the population. They are in the the larger sphere of the human psyche you know as a a collective. And so my parents happen to be the identities that are conveying that but like the ideas are what the problems are. So I try not to um ascribe it to like my parents specifically. And that's hard to do. you've seen on multiple episodes, I'll get like, you know, super bent out of shape. So will my sister. That [ __ ] happens. We are human beings. But I try to like remind myself that it it's these ideas and ways of thinking and belief systems are the problems, not the individuals who are expressing them. Um, I don't know if that makes any sense, but that's how I view it. Uh, let's see here. We got a couple of more. Got a super sticker. Oh, here's one from um Nope, we already had that one. Okay. Your parents, Here's one from Doney, CA324. Your parents move on feeling rather than fact. Do you think that can be changed? No. And that's why I think for my mom, it's going to come down to a feeling that Trump is like bad for for lack of a better term. It's going to have to come to a feeling that she's been lied to and that Trump has basically grifted her. She will have to feel that. Um, I don't think a fact will change her mind. This is from Brandon Collins 1225. Grew up in Lton during the Satanic Panic days. Wow. But have lived in mass for over 30 years. Okay. Is the reason I'm on such a hateful place. Well, we're going right into the heart of it in just a couple of days. Um, sorry. Let me just scroll down here. Here's one from Huh? Pat who? Trump embodies hypernormalization by normalizing distorted realities and alternative facts via repetition. His supporters accept this parallel world prioritizing loyalty over institutions and truth. Couldn't agree more. Couldn't agree more. Um, let's see. R RSRunner8 says, "If you're agreeing with Bob, you're probably saying some heinous stuff." You know, I I one time saw my dad. God, this is a long time ago. I think this was during Trump's first term, I think. I was visiting them. Me and my dad went to the airport and uh he just struck up a conversation with this guy about how great Trump was like right in the middle of the airport. And I'm sitting like a complete stranger who was also there waiting for somebody. And uh the guy was like down just totally agreeing with my dad. And I I was like, "What the fuck?" That was the first time that I ever had like a real out in the wild like oh it's not just my crazy parents. Like there's just people out in the wild that are like my dad. Um terrifying stuff. Here is one from Fifi Fi. I recently watched a pod you were in with the doctor who is trying to get TDS into the DSM. That is Trump derangement syndrome. What are your thoughts on what she's trying to do? What are your thoughts of her in general? Well, in that podcast, I gave her some of my thoughts. I was like, you should change it to like political derangement syndrome. You might have a better shot at it. because she was obviously very MAGA. Trump derangement syndrome for those who don't know is this idea that uh you know people who think Trump is as bad as he is are deranged and that it is like a real psychological disorder. And this woman was a guest on a podcast that I was on uh as well and she is a a clinical therapist and she was trying to get Trump during syndrome basically to be recognized as a a real um you know psychological disorder. Obviously I don't agree with that. I I do believe all the bad things are real. So that's kind of where I stand on it. Uh what else do we got here? Sorry. Uh this is from Mercy. Chad, do you feel bad for cultivating and encouraging hatred from an angry mob toward your vulnerable sweet parents? Do you denounce the How am I encouraging the hatred? My parents are saying what they're saying and people feel how they feel and the internet is the internet. So you can say whatever you want to say in a comment or whatever. I don't feel that I'm encouraging anybody to hate my parents. My parents are simply speaking and people are reacting. Um Megs 6942 says, "I gave my mom a subscription to Ground News and feel very blessed that she's slowly turning around. Do you think your mom will also reconsider her beliefs if she uses ground news for facteing?" I'm I'm thinking about maybe a way to show her how to use the app and and just see what comes of that. I think that might be interesting. For those who don't know, Ground News um sponsors this show on Instagram and uh I've been doing little ads for them for maybe four or five months now, I believe. But it's a cool app that shows you basically like the bias of any story and how it's being covered from the right and the left and all this. And I think my mom could benefit from using it. Um, this is from Fran Anderson 4165. What happened to your dad? I feel like there was some trauma that formed his belief system. 100%. He was adopted. I think that had a big impact on kind of like his worldview and pretty much who he is uh to this day. I think is still rooted in that that fact that like at birth his parents in his mind rejected him. And uh he's been trying to kind of solve that trauma I think his entire life. And I think that has a lot to do with why he is the way he is. This is from peasant Artorius. Oh [ __ ] it disappeared. It disappeared. Can I find it still in the thing? Um, oh yeah, here it is. Um, Peasant Artorius, hi from Liverpool, UK across the pond. Why do you think the podcast is far more popular with the left listeners than the right? Love to everybody. Because I think the I think my parents' views and how they express them, I do believe that they are like I don't know if they're average MAGA, but I think that they are those ideas are common in the MAGA voting base. I think there are some people in MAGA that are, you know, tricked or they voted on um, you know, wanting to make things cheaper. There were like financial whatever. I think there are some MAGA that are like not like my parents, but I think there are a lot that are. And I think a lot of people on the left don't know that or have never seen these views or heard them expressed in these ways. And so I think that a lot of people on the left. Um, and that's part of what this podcast is for me, too. It's kind of like documenting that, saying like, "Hey, I know like we all say MAGA and no contact, but here's actually why we do need to to have some contact is so that you know this is what they're really actually thinking. And so I think for some of the people who watch this show that are on the left, uh, I think that's why that it's like kind of eye opening. It's like, "Holy [ __ ] that's insane." It's like way worse than you thought. You know, that's just my two cents on it. I could be wrong. Could be wrong. Um, let me keep scrolling down here. Mad Greek 253 says, "Huya Navy." Huh? Yeah, maybe that [ __ ] with my sister that was so [ __ ] funny. Uh to me it was funny. Anyway, um okay, let me scroll a little bit down here again. Um this is from Connor Blanchard 3484. Someone so kind to animals. Why do you think your mom is so dismissive of veganism? Because that's where the rubber meets the road for her. Yes, she loves her little dogs and her butterflies and her horses and stuff, but there's also a kind of like a counter ideology to that in like Republican, you know, red state kind of like you got to eat your meat and potatoes. And I think she that wins out over kindness to animals in her mind. That's what I think. I could be wrong. It's also just like she's never been a vegetarian or vegan. She's now 70 years old. you know, is that gonna um is that going to change? Probably not. Um I'm scrolling. I'm scrolling. Here is one from Kim R Crawford. Kimry Crawford 5137. If your mom leaves the cult, how do you think she will hoe about that? Oh, go about that probably with your dad. I think that's a typo. Would she try to keep it from him? How would he treat her? How the [ __ ] could she keep it from him if she becomes anti-Maga or gets out of the MAGA cult? I mean, she can't keep that from him. How the [ __ ] could she keep it from him? Um, I'm not sure what would happen, honestly. And I don't think she will unless he does. God, I don't know. That's a great [ __ ] question. I really don't know how she would she would broach that subject. Maybe it just becomes a thing of like politics is off limits in their house. I don't know. I don't know. but she also like helps him a lot now after his hip surgeries and stuff. So, it's like he can't he needs her in a way that I don't think probably he ever has in his life. I don't know. That's a great question and time will tell hopefully on this very podcast. We shall see. Here's one from uh Pat who if you haven't already, please watch Adam Curus hypernormalization. I have not. I'll put that on my list. Thank you for the recommendation. Here's one from Vagaren. My parents are more liberal people, but they have demonstrated similar behaviors that seem commonplace amongst boomers like the indignant boomer. Wow. Yeah, I I think that that generation has a lot of similarity just from, you know, as all generations do. You watch the same media, you grow up with the same social and political events, etc., etc. Um, this is from Anthony Cretto9. I second the push for ground news. It could stop those instances of why haven't I seen this covered? Maybe use it during the pod. I I might make just like a little video, a little 10 or 15 minute video where I run her through how to use it or something. We look at a couple of stories because I I it's a cool uh app. I I think and uh it does kind of like there's a lot of things I'll look on there and be like, "What the fuck?" where it's like it's only being covered from the left or only being covered from the right. That [ __ ] blows my mind. From Zajima, do you remember your first political argument with your dad? No. I don't remember what it was about, but I I remember there being a time during Obama, during his first term, where like my sister and I would go back for birthdays or Christmases or whatever, and within five or 10 minutes, you would come into the house, you would sit on the couch, Fox News would be on, and within five or 10 minutes, he's just screaming in your face about how stupid you were for voting for Obama, the country, communist, blah blah blah blah blah. Um, I don't remember what the context of those screaming matches were, but they were frequent. Here is one from Rebecca Gillespie, 42:16. I see hope in your mom to be more left-leaning, but I don't think it can happen while your dad is still alive. I think she's afraid of his opinion of her. He is too close-minded and argumentative. That could be. I don't know. Like I said, I don't know how that's going to happen. Uh, but I think it will happen for my mom and then we'll see how my dad deals with it if he is still with us. Um, this is from Miracy 1. Everyone says Bob is the star of the show. Agree. I think Mirc might be MAGA. Um, I mean who's the in quote star of the show? I think we're a family and at any given time one person is, you know, saying something that make may make more sense or be funnier or whatever. Uh, I don't know that we have a star of the show exactly. I I kind of think it's my mom, though, if there is one. Honestly, to me, she's the main narrative thread of it. If we're looking at this from like a an outside perspective as a a show, what is the uh show? Who Who's the main character? To me, it's my mom because that's the journey, or at least for me, it's my mom, I should say. That's the journey I'm most interested in. Can she get out of the MAGA cult? That's like what the the the kind of narrative arc of this show, at least in my head, is what it would be. Um, Mega Majes says, "Everybody tell Chad Van Lean for guest." I would love that. I love Van Lean. If you don't watch his stuff, he is so [ __ ] funny. He does a podcast with Rachel Lindsay called Higher Learning. They talk about politics all the time. Um, and he recently reposted one of our uh Instagram rails. It was a for me a great moment in life. Here is one from Matt's music sucks. Okay. I see a lot of similarities between MAGA followers and narcissists. Drawn to Trump's personality and fan base. Have you checked out narcissistic personalities or how to navigate it in your talks? I'm aware of it. I think there is a little bit of it going on. I I don't know any professional way to do it. I'm going to also say that I'm about to end this live stream. Um, I'm going to answer these last few questions of people that have made donations and um then I'm going to have to end this. So, please don't donate any more money in your questions because I'm just going to read these last. I've got about like three or four left here and then I'm going to end the live stream. So, please refrain. But, thank you everyone who has um this is Yanick. I don't know how to What does that mean? And what is the double dots over the a grasser grasser grouser? My apologies. Hi from Germany. I don't really see much of magger US politics outside the pod. So I've been asking myself how Bob and Mary Lou compared to the average MAGA person. Love the pod. That's kind of what I was talking about earlier. Yanick. Uh I think they are kind of right in the middle. I think there are people who are like crazier than my parents. I've met a few of those. And I think there's people who are way more moderate than my parents that voted for Trump on the basis of anything else. You know, that they're not super racist and like want to see people murdered in the streets, but that they, you know, inflation was getting out of control and they were like, he'll put it back, right? And so they vote for him and that's it. Or they vote for him because they didn't want Kla Harris like as a first woman president. But they're not total pieces of [ __ ] Um I I don't know. I like the the bottom line answer is I don't know how anyone could know, but my gut tells me my parents are kind of right in the middle. Maybe a little bit toward the insane side. Um, all right. All right. Here's another one. Dave H4rR Chad, in a perfect world, we get your dad to voice the crime pizza the movie, but what three things can we do to speed up uniting this world? Pizza Movie, for those who don't know, was an old project of mine where I had this idea that I was going to pitch a movie to Pizza Hut, get a million dollars from them, make the movie, and then they would put it on a thumb drive that would come in every pizza they delivered. Uh, and it was about pizza and it was kind of weird and whatever. So, I'm trying to make that right now. But what three things can we do to speed up uniting this world? The big thing is get rid of [ __ ] money. Money, I think, has like destroyed politics. Um, and it has gotten it like everything is about the individual and Trump is kind of the the pinnacle example of this. I I just read some article today. He's made $1.8 billion since he came back to office and his family and all that [ __ ] And so it's like I think people in uh public service like this is what I would do. Okay, this is pie in the sky type [ __ ] Everyone who serves in a federal office, we are talking about the House, the Senate, and the White House. All of them make minimum what you have to get rid of all your money. Your money goes to the state now. Period. Done. You're you have no more money. Every dollar you have, every asset you have, now the state has it. They claim it immediately as soon as you win the election. So you have nothing. Now you get to subsist on minimum wage and whatever the government health care is and whatever the government subsidy programs are. That's how you live. To me, that would solve virtually every problem we have in government. Um because you would start to see, well, now the minimum wage is going to be $200 an hour and the baseline health care that everybody gets is the best health care in the world. All these problems would be solved immediately if you forced politicians to live with them. That is what I would do. Um, let me see. I think I got a couple of more here. KCR68XX says Miracy 1 is Marylu. That would be a big plot twist. Um, this is TAbot 8 says, "Would you consider using a technique rebuttal approach along the lines of street epistemology with your folks?" Um, I'd love to see that as an episode. I some somebody else emailed me this or or DM' me this or whatever. I got to look into this. I'm not sure about what it even is. This is from Evan Hilderbrand 2851. What was the first moment you realized your parents views are damaging and dangerous? I love the show, by the way. You are great. I don't know. I don't know. God, what was the first moment? Jesus. I'm sure it was some point in childhood, but I have no idea what it would have been. My apologies. Uh or some What is this one? There's one. No, here's another one. Um, Dakota Williams 491. My grandfather is currently going through dementia. Sorry to hear that. He legit relives Trump inauguration once a week. He's super MAGA, so he loves it. Well, at least he's loving it, I suppose. Yeah, that's tough though. Sorry you're going through that. Um, is that it? Is that all we have? Here's one more. Nope, that's the same one. Uh, I think that's it. That was all of the ones that I could get to. Um, thank you everybody for joining me. Thank you everybody for watching and supporting this podcast. I sincerely appreciate it all so much. We will have another episode out um Wednesday and then uh I'll be getting on that plane to go visit my parents and we are going to be shooting an episode live. Not live, but we are going to be shooting an episode all together. I will edit it. It will probably come out on Sunday still. We're gonna shoot it on Saturday. And like I said, hopefully I'm gonna be making a couple other little, you know, little tidbits here and there of my mom showing us certain things or my dad or what have you. But thank you everybody so much for uh joining me and I will see you on Wednesday.
