Hello, necessary conversation people. I used to do these clips when we first started out when we had like five whole people watching this. But since someone is gallivanting, Chad said maybe I should do a quick little clip of the pond. So I wanted to show you our backyard and the pond quick. So as you walk out the backyard, Ooh, it's a little bright. That is a koi pond.
It is 3,500 gallons approximately. I have 27 koi. And at the very end tonight when it gets a little darker, uh the fish will come [music] out to feed and I'll get the clip at the very end with the lights on and and feed them and show you that. So that's the koi pond. Then from the koi pond, we're walking on [music] uh one side of the house and we have milkweed. If you want [music] monarchs to come, you have to have milkweed. I think I have four different species of it.
I love aloe vera plants. I don't know why. I have blue [music] stem. Uh this is Gregg's mist. Blue stem and this will attract [music] the butterfly that mimics the monarch called the queen. So if you want a queen butterfly to come,
[music] plant some of that. Right there's more that is tropical milkweed. This is um some old amaryllis bulbs that I brought out after Christmas. And then on this side is the pollination garden.
[music] This is just a small uh like a meditation little garden that I come out to when needed. [music] I have my crosses. I have my aloe vera. And then this shows you the long shot of all of the zinnias. Right now they look real I just need to water them well. But, this bed has really done well this summer.
[music] And it will attract a bunch of butterflies. My little dish of water is for the squirrel. And then I have a couple sunflowers growing up there where the wrens come in the morning and eat the seeds. This planter has
[music] dill in it. Dill will attract swallowtail butterflies. And then I have Max right there. And Kitty right there. Yep. Kitty. Max. And dill. And swallowtails I think I have got like maybe 10 larva off of that. And then I take them [music] into my aquarium and hatch them out. And this is what I call the bunny rabbit den. It's their little hut hut or house.
Those are fake, but the bunnies come here at night. It says, "Plant a garden, feed a bunny." [music] There's the little baby right there. Come get your [music] carrots. And this is Nellie R. Stevens holly bushes. We have several of these in the yard. They're huge. It gives great shelter to a lot of different animals and butterflies. Back of the pond, I have three planters. They all are zinnias.
Zinnias, great pollination plant. They're one of my favorites. They bring all kinds of butterflies. That is a moonflower. It only blooms at night. It's
[music] a tropical type of a flower. A lot of people call it a weed. I love it. These are some more pretty zinnias. I have a small bench here and back is coreopsis. There's some four o'clocks. [music] There's some Joe Pye weed in there. And of course there is milkweed. And back that direction now you can see how [music] big those Nellie R. Stevens are.
