Welcome to the necessary conversation Wednesday edition. Today it's just me and my mom. We've been using these Wednesday shows to try and show each other clips basically from the other side of any given political issue to see if we can open one another's minds perhaps to see these things from a different perspective. >> Yes. >> Okay. [laughter] Today, um we're going to be focusing on Rob Reiner and his wife being murdered this past weekend. Um, the main suspect, I think I believe is his son. And there was some, uh, stories coming out about how his son got into an argument with Bill her or something at a party, a holiday party, and then committed this horrific act of violence. At least that is what is suspected. He is not convicted of that yet. There have been a lot of people reacting to it. He's Rob Reiner is a very famous person. He directed a lot of movies. He was on TV. He played Archie Bunker's son. If anybody remembers the show All in the Family, it was a very heavily political show. Uh Rob Reiner played um the son-in-law of Archie Bunker. And Rob Reiner's character was super left and liberal. Archie Bunker's character was basically Bob, my dad, your husband. Super racist, super homophobic, super right-wing on that show. So, upon his death, Donald Trump reacted with a tweet. I'm going to post that now and we're going to discuss it. Okay, this is a man again who was murdered very likely by his son, stabbed to death. And here we go. This is what Donald Trump had to say on his tweet or Truth Social. I think he he posted this on his own social media platform. A very sad thing has happened. Sorry. A very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away together with his wife Michelle, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mindcrippling disease known as Trump derangement syndrome, sometimes referred to as TDS. He was known to have driven people crazy by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness and with the golden age of America upon us perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michelle rest in peace. Okay. What is your reaction to Donald Trump's reaction? >> When, believe it or not, I saw that um on I think it was Newsmax and they did it real briefly and I kind of paid attention, but I didn't. >> So then I pulled it up online and I read it. Then I got on my phone and texted one of my MAGA friends. I said, "Was that real or was that fake news?" >> And she said, "No, I think that's real." So then after I thought about it for what it's been up there now a day, day and a half, >> I think it was not appropriate for him to do that at the time that he tweeted that. >> I think part of that text he shouldn't have had that middle part in there at all. That was ridiculous. Um, but as we know, both of them hated each other. >> Yeah. >> So, from the get-go, all of the things that Rob Reiner said about Trump and then even to the point where he wished he would be dead from the suicide attempt and then all of the things that Trump would say back about him. So, Trump has no filter. We know this. >> Mhm. Do I think that was appropriate? No. I think he should have just said that, you know, he had passed in in a violent way and rip to both of them. But like I'm what I want to say is as we get older, we have no filter. Your dad doesn't have a filter. Trump doesn't have one for sure. >> Okay. Um, but after all of the years in the past, because that man was a very leftist and hated everything Trump stood for, and he was vocal about it. >> Mhm. >> I don't feel that Trump should have said like all warm and fuzzy things about him either upon his death, but he could have just stated, "RIP, you know, I'm sorry," and move on. But he he put the middle part of that in there about the Trump syndrome thing and I don't think that was right. >> Well, it clearly wasn't. His son very likely is the one that murdered him, >> right? >> It has nothing to do with politics. So Trump is trying to use this as a moment where he can say, "Look, it was some it was his political views that got him killed because he doesn't like me. That's what got him killed. He doesn't like me." That's >> Trump is a raging narcissist. You can see that, right? >> I don't I don't see that tweet as that way. I see that tweet that Rob Reiner was after him for years going on every TV show, any social media that he could spew things out. They're wishing Trump dead. >> So >> where I don't think he ever wished Trump dead. >> Yes. in the assassination attempt. His exact quote, well, it's not exact, but it was something to the effect I wished. >> Do you have >> the assassination attempt would have gone all the way through or something like like that? >> Do you have that? >> I don't have the exact quote, but it it more or less stated that he wished he would have been killed. >> I need the exact quote. You're making [ __ ] up right now. >> I am not making [ __ ] up. I'm saying it's pretty close to what I just said. Go ahead and look it up. to find it. >> Go ahead and look while I'm saying a few more things. >> Um, I mean, we can't even imagine this happening within any family, it it's just it's horrific. It's a tragedy. It's terrible. But on the day that you die like like he did violently, you can't just I don't know like say he was wonderful and great toward all of the people on the right side because he was not. He would go on TV shows and rip all the magas and all the right people apart. >> But if you're this is America that's freedom of speech, >> right? And and you're making this political just the way they did Charlie Kirk. >> No. Okay. >> Let's get to that. Let's get to that because I have Rob Reiner's reaction to Charlie Kirk's assassination. Do you want to watch that? >> Yeah. I did hear what he said about that which was okay. But what I'm trying to say is there were people that when Charlie Kirk was killed were celebrating that death saying >> Rob Reiner was not one of them. >> I know he was not. And I can't find anything on the internet that you're talking about Rob Reiner, what he said about Trump's assassination attempt. >> Yes, he did. Let's see. Okay. He posted he was unfit, unqualified, a danger to democracy, dishonest in words and leadership. Um, yes, Chad, I know. I read >> Robiner condemned the violence following the assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. >> No, no, no. He said many time he's, "Oh gosh, I wish I would have wrote it down." He said something to the fact that he wished the assassination attempt would have worked or gone through or something like that. >> I don't see that. I'm not finding that. >> Okay. I I'll try to find it as you talk. >> What I'm trying to get at with this Let's watch one more clip before we get to Rob Reiner's reaction to Charlie Kirk. I want to play you one clip of Donald Trump. So, this is the day after he made this post, essentially saying Rob Reiner was killed because he doesn't like Donald Trump for political reasons, which is a lie. Once again, Donald Trump tweeting without knowing any of the details of a horrific murder, just like he did with the mass shooting that uh took place at the the college. >> I do agree with you in that respect. That was not right. Here, I just found it in some of my little notes. You know, I take notes. Look, here's all my notes. Okay, I take notes. >> All right. >> I wished the assassination attempt didn't fail. That was one of the lines that he did say. >> Okay, I'm looking this up right now. >> I wish the assassination attempt did not fail. >> I just can't find this anywhere. Um, >> we know Trump didn't like him when he was alive and he >> Where is that quote from? Where did you get that? Um, it was on a Facebook post that someone had. >> Okay. >> Also stating those other things that he didn't like about Trump. >> Well, I definitely have a clip of him and we're going to play it talking about Trump in a negative way, but he's not saying he wished him dead or wished that the assassination attempt didn't fail in the clip you sent me. He doesn't say any of that. >> You can disagree with somebody politically. You can even think they're a bad person. That's way different than celebrating their death as Trump is doing here. >> I don't think >> you guys got >> Huh? >> No, I don't think he's celebrating his death. He's just saying RIP in the in the very middle. >> Rest in peace at the end of that and in the middle >> some of that stuff he should not have said. >> Let's read it again. >> Let's read it again. >> He says, >> "Here's what it should have." Let me read it the way he should have done it. >> Okay. I think it should have said a very sad thing happened last night in Hollywood. Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling but once very talented movie director and comedy star passed away together with his wife Michelle reported period. That should have been period [laughter] right there. >> Yeah, >> that should have been period. >> No [ __ ] >> From that point on, nothing until the end. May Rob and Michelle rest in peace. >> Right. Okay. So >> all of that middle was just Trump going crazy. >> I agree with you. However, that stuff is in there. He did tweet that. >> Has not taken it down. And I'll play you a video here in a second of him doubling down on it the next day in a press conference. >> He he cannot help making everything about him. He has no empathy for any other human being. Do you think a president should have empathy? >> But Chad, no. If somebody didn't say, "I hope the assassination attempt failed >> in regard to your life." How do you treat that person back? >> I don't believe he said that. I don't I cannot find it. >> You want me to uh what do you call it? Snapchat it. Not Snapchat. Chat GBT it. >> No, I'm I've done that myself. The thing that comes up is it says he condemned the the assassination. >> I wouldn't make that up. I saw it somewhere. Right. >> I'm sure you saw it somewhere, but you saw it in a place that was making it up. >> Well, I don't think so, but >> I look, I don't know. He might have said that. I cannot find >> right now. I don't think how he stated that was appropriate. I would have never done that. >> I think as you get older, you have no filter. Some of that was not acceptable in the middle. >> As you get older, you have no filter is not an excuse. This is the president of the [ __ ] United States happily talking about how this guy died because he didn't like me. >> He's not happily talking about it. I don't believe. >> All right, let's watch this next clip of him. This is him the the next day after this post. He's asked by a reporter, "Do you want to take anything back?" And this is what he says. >> Please, >> Mr. President, a number of Republicans have denounced your statement on True Social after the murder of Rob Reiner. Do you stand by that post? >> Well, I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned. He said he like he knew it was false. In fact, it's the exact opposite that I was a friend of Russia controlled by Russia. You know, was the Russia hooked. He was one of the people behind it. I think he hurt himself in career-wise. He became like a deranged person. Trump derangement syndrome. So, I was not a fan of Rob Reiner at all in any way, shape, or form. I thought he was very bad for our country. Yeah. >> Mr. President. >> Okay. Not a word. >> I'll tell you, you always say he lies right there. He's being honest. He was not a fan of his. >> Great. So, he's being honest and he's being a total piece of [ __ ] >> This man and at the end when he died. >> I mean, he said it was terrible tragedy. Rest in peace. But he's not going to say the words that you want to hear because >> all I want him to say is in that moment, fine, I'm not a fan of his, but what happened to him was horrific and that should have never happened to anyone? >> Also, shouldn't a president be able to say, >> "Yeah, he didn't like me, but that's okay. All Americans have the right to express their political views or their ideological views without any repercussion and that's his business. I I feel very bad for him and his family. Anything like that, Trump is a [ __ ] egoomaniac. Like I just want to ask you this this basic question. Do you think it's important for a president to have empathy for all Americans? >> Yes. >> Okay. Clearly he doesn't for Rob Reiner. But that American didn't have empathy for our country at all and hated our country and hated Trump. >> What are you talking about? Hated Trump. Yes. Why hated our country? >> He hated everyone on the right side. He was nothing but a liberal and hated everything on the right side. >> So what what does that mean? Trump gets to completely ignore the tragedy of what happened >> and say it was because he hated me. But like in regard to him wanting Trump dead. >> Okay. Once again, I don't know that you have valid proof of that. I have not seen that. Here, let's let's play this clip that you sent me. This is Rob Reiner talking about how much he doesn't like Trump. Okay. Are you ready? >> Uh-huh. >> You have a complete and utter lying buffoon. >> [laughter] >> I mean, I'm not I'm going to tell you the the the truth. He's a fraud. He lies. He cheats people. Everything that comes out of his mouth virtually is a lie. And he's a con man. And and if you look at what he's done with his career and how he's tricked people into things, it's abhorrent. I never like George W. Bush, his policies, but I didn't I didn't hate the guy. I hate this man. I've never seen No, I've never hated a politician. I can't not hate somebody who builts innocent people out of money, life savings. And we've seen it. He with that Trump University, he took people's money, three $35,000, wiped these people out, and is being sued for it. He steals money from charities. I'm not making this stuff up. >> Okay? So he hated Trump and he was vocal about it. >> That's funny. >> And would post and do all that. So upon his death, >> Trump's not going to say, "I like you either." >> Right? Because Trump is a piece of [ __ ] Trump doesn't have to say he likes him. He just has to show some [ __ ] sympathy for this family, for this horrific act that has happened that has devastated the lives of I mean, he's got kids. One of them very likely did this [ __ ] murder. I think he has two other kids. >> Thank you, Chad. But I still like Donald Trump. >> But this this in no way paints him in your mind as like a horrible piece of [ __ ] >> No. No, I still like Donald Trump. >> I mean, I obviously you still like him, but this to you, I don't know. But for some reason, I thought this was going to be like at least one more straw on the back of the camel that you could see him say these things and he's a complete monster. This guy is a a egoomaniac on a level we've probably never seen in the White House to say this. >> You're saying that about Trump. People would say that about Rob Reiner, too. Both >> Rob Reiner is not the president of the United States, >> but he was spewing all this stuff about our president. >> Who cares? He's not the pre the president. one of his sole jobs >> is to unite the country to be a president for all Americans by saying this. What he's implying in that tweet that he put out is that Rob Reiner got murdered because he doesn't like me. And so anybody else out there who gets murdered because they're left deserves it. That's the implication. >> That's wrong. That's not right. That was wrong. >> You're right there. That was wrong. >> Thank you. So, you can see how that makes him at the very least a terrible president. >> I think Trump is the first president that we have ever had that doesn't pretend to do stuff like he doesn't >> like when he held the Bible upside down for his photo op. [laughter] >> Well, so >> he pretends to do [ __ ] constantly. The things that he doesn't pretend about are when people get under his skin, >> right? Well, he treats others the way they treat him. >> That's not true, >> if you want to say it that way. >> Absolutely not true. >> What about all the farmers that voted for him who are now [ __ ] wrecked whose entire lives are money? He's he's coming across now with money for farmers. >> Okay, I >> gas, Chad. It's the lowest it's ever been. >> Trump's going to be on the um the TV tonight at 9:00 addressing us all, talking about our $2,000 that will go to the middle class Americans. I'm sure we'll we'll cover what he says in that on Sunday. >> And remember, you said I get your $2,000 check and I get Haley's. So, I'm up 4,000 tonight. >> All right. >> Um I I just can't like this Rob Briner thing. You think it's horrific? I assume, right? >> Of course I do. >> Okay. >> They tried to help his son how many times with drug issues and it was just terrible. And shoot, did he and his son even did a movie together? And but this also tells you, my god, family dynamics are you just never know. You never know. >> We don't know what the reasons were behind this, but very likely was not politically motivated. >> No, I'm pretty sure. Yeah. >> But I'm just saying, would you ever um tweet or post anything like this about Rob Reiner? He deserved it. He didn't like Trump. No. >> Okay. Trump is tweeting that >> sad. That's not what it is. >> He said he w had the MAGA. Do we need to read it again? Here we go. >> This is the part of it that I think is important. >> Okay. >> It says uh >> due reportedly due to anger he caused others through massive unyielding and incurable affliction. That is >> okay. So let's pause right there. Mhm. >> He died >> or was as Trump says has passed away together with his wife Michelle reportedly due to the anger he caused others >> through his massive unyielding and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as Trump derangement syndrome. So he's basically saying if you don't like me it will kill you. You deserve this death. And so that message is now permeated throughout the [ __ ] internet. He doubled down on it in a live press conference saying, "No, he was a piece of [ __ ] I won't say I'm sorry for this." And the idea that he is putting out there is it is if you don't like Trump, it is okay to be murdered. And therefore, anybody out there who does like Trump, maybe you want to murder somebody. >> Oh, I don't get that message out of this at all. I do it. >> No, the middle part of that message is completely wrong, inappropriate. He never should have tweeted that. Like I said, he should have done the first part and the last part. May they rest in peace. >> But it's also like how he Trump is turning it on himself. This has nothing to do with him. >> This is a an interf family problem. Clearly, >> whatever the relationship was between Rob Reiner or his son, I'm sure had nothing to do with Donald Trump. No. >> He and Trump is making it all about himself. You don't see how that's like just a a horrible narcissistic piece of [ __ ] I said inappropriate. Yes. Not right. >> But it's beyond inappropriate. This You want to talk about Trump derangement syndrome? >> He's got it. Trump is [ __ ] deranged. To tweet something like this is [ __ ] insane. >> I was really expecting him to pull it and maybe an apology, but I don't see any of that. >> He'll never apologize just like you and dad won't because he doesn't think he's done anything wrong. >> Chad? >> Yes. What do you want me to apologize about right here, right now? >> Nothing. I don't care. I'm just saying we've had >> we've had multiple moments in our show where I ask you both, do you think you've ever done anything wrong? Dad says no. Never. I never have done anything wrong in my life. And this is a similar kind of thing. Trump posts this. And by the way, >> oh my, >> there are all kinds of Republicans at every tier of the federal government saying this is terrible. They have all come out against him. >> Some Some have. Yes, some have. I've read. >> Okay. So, I'm just saying multiple Republicans who have all been sucking his dick for the past however many years are like, "This is a step too far." >> What do you Oh my god. >> Nothing. I'm reading some of my notes. >> All right. What do you got? >> Hello. just the the stuff I'm reading that we're he you know it's like if someone tweets that dad and I should be six foot under we shouldn't be on the podcast you're giving us a platform that we're pieces of [ __ ] and should die >> should I have a relationship with them and be nice to them? >> No. >> Those people are not the president of the United States. They're just nameless people on the [ __ ] internet. This is the president >> coming after a very famous person. Yes, he was liberal, all of that, but coming after a very famous person after he literally the day he was murdered by his son, >> he hated everyone on the right side. >> Okay. Well, let's see if that's true. Here is Rob Reiner's here is Rob Reiner's reaction >> to Charlie Kirk's murder. When you first heard about the murder of Charlie Kirk, what was your immediate gut reaction to it? >> Well, horror. A absolute horror. Uh, and I unfortunately saw the video of it and it's uh it's indis what happened to him and uh that should never happen to anybody. I don't care what your political beliefs are. that's not acceptable. That's not a solution uh to uh to solving problems. And uh I felt like what uh his wife said at the uh the service at the memorial they had was exactly right. And totally I believe you know I'm I'm Jewish but I uh I believe in the teachings of Jesus and I believe in doing unto others and I believe in forgiveness. And what she said to me was uh uh beautiful and absolutely you know she she forgave um his his assassin and I think that that is uh admirable. >> Okay. So I don't see that guy saying that he was happy Trump or you know wish that Trump would have gotten killed. >> That's what he said about Charlie Kirk actually getting killed. >> Right. Right. Oh he did. But I I wished I would have had the exact quote, but he was sad that it the assassination failed. >> But here you see him saying assassination is not the answer to any problems, >> right? But he he's not like out there on X doing the tweets and on the shows and all that. What? >> I mean, I I Yeah, he did say that about Charlie Kirk, but there were hundreds of other people that did not. >> So, I'm saying >> what are you talking about? Hundreds of other people have nothing to do with this. We are talking about Donald Trump and Rob Reiner. That's the the whole thing we're talking about here. So, who are you talking about? These hundreds of other >> I'm talking about left and right. >> Okay, that doesn't matter. You've I'm talking about Donald Trump and Rob Reiner. I'm giving you evidence here. Rob Reiner, when Charlie Kirk was assassinated, showed sympathy and said this should never happen and even sided with Erica Kirk in what she said at the memorial for giving the assassin, etc., etc. So, you can see he has empathy. He can look at this situation and say, "This is terrible. I don't agree with this person politically at all, but this should have never happened, and I am against it." Donald Trump then does not do that at all. He does the opposite. He says, "You deserve to die because you didn't like me." >> But if my halfway quote was correct, then that's not to die. >> If you can find that quote, fine. Send it to me. We will address that on Sunday. >> Okay? >> I I I cannot find it. I'm not saying it doesn't exist. Why would I have wrote it down if it's not real? >> Because you probably went on Facebook and saw somebody left a comment or something saying that it's real and you just wrote it down. >> Oh, okay. Okay. Maybe. Maybe. >> Let me >> I wish the assassination attempt didn't fail. That's what I wrote down. >> I'm looking up here. Trump too, you know, for years was slammed um on all kinds of social media by Rob Reiner and and it goes on and on and on other things. He addressed TV shows about him. He said he slammed him for all kinds of stuff. >> Mhm. >> And he just wasn't like out there saying a few things. He continued to say things. >> Fine, but don't you think the president of the United States should be able to handle a celebrity not liking him? Yes, >> without issuing a [ __ ] tweet that basically says, "Good. I'm glad he's dead." >> Okay, I want to end by saying it's not appropriate. I didn't like it. That was not correct. The middle part of that was ridiculous. He should have just started with the top and the bottom. >> Yeah. >> And been done with it. >> Okay. I look, I agree with you, >> but I still like Donald Trump for my president. >> That's fine. You can like him for your president. I'm trying to get to a more basic kind of human understanding of the type of person he is. You can like all of his policies and think he's doing a good job as president, but you can see that he is a narcissistic [ __ ] now, right? >> I don't like the middle part of that tweet. It was not nice. >> So, you can see Donald Trump is a narcissistic [ __ ] right? >> I'm not saying that. And stop putting words in my mouth. Here's what I would like to say. >> Let me ask No, before before you say this, let me ask you this. What type of a person do you think Donald Trump is? >> I think he's unfiltered. I think he's getting old now. He doesn't give a [ __ ] sometimes when he says stuff, you know, so it just blurts out. What I wished he would do before he before he hits that send button or puts it out there on the on the web, he needs to take five seconds to reread what he just put out there. A lot of people need to do that now in our day and age because >> he doesn't send these tweets. He has somebody that he dictates to. >> And then says send. >> Yeah. >> Well, he needs to reread them before he says send. A lot of us need to do that. >> Okay. >> I think the the computers that we set behind when we say things to people, when we put things out there are just rude >> and people need to stop doing that. be more kind in the words that you say because you don't you should read the words and think what if those words came back at me would I like that or not would Donald Trump liked that coming back to him no >> right and also you have to understand that when he does this everybody thinks they can do it too when you see the president of the United States sending [ __ ] out like this the average person the average Trump supporter is like great now I'll say the same [ __ ] It it's not >> I'm I'm a MAGA. I don't like it. I would not say that about anyone. >> And this is what I'm saying. This moment right now is kind of an interesting moment because it is turning a lot of people against him who have not been before, including all kinds of federal level politicians, Congress people, senators, a bunch of them have gone on record saying, "This guy's a piece of [ __ ] I can't believe he tweeted this." >> Yeah. I could when the first I I saw it briefly like I told you. Then I Googled it. I said, "Oh my." And then I called or texted my friend and she goes, "Yeah, I think he did say that and it's not good." And she was she's a big MAGA, too. >> Yes. Because there's a piece of all of you or at least you and dad that claim to be Christian and have all these Christian beliefs. >> I believe in God. >> I understand what he [clears throat] tweeted here is very uncchristian. You can >> very Yes, I know. It's terrible. Yeah. >> So, Trump is starting to exhibit these things. You know, for me, it's like it's a step closer to when he said I could shoot somebody in the middle of Fifth Avenue and wouldn't lose any of my followers. He's like pressing that line, doing [ __ ] like this. This tweet that he put out is like what he's like that there are so many components of it that are absolutely insane. The fact that he says Trump derangement syndrome, which is nothing, that's like a madeup thing. The fact that he says Robiner died because he didn't like me. Absolutely insane. That's not even true. >> Uh and the fact that he doubled down on it in a live press conference the next day when all he had to say was, "Yes, I I apologize. It was a moment of anger. You know, we had a contentious relationship, but I don't wish that on anybody." That's all he would have had to say >> and he didn't >> because he's a piece of [ __ ] >> Now, if I was the president, I would have also said something about, you know, family dynamics and that we need more help with our families because this was terrible. >> Sure. Can you imagine Joe Biden ever doing something like this? >> What? >> Can you imagine Joe Biden ever doing something like this? No, probably not because he never tweeted anything anything. >> Can you imagine any other politician in America doing something like this? >> No. Like I said, he has no filter here. I don't know what's going on. He has no >> Shouldn't the president have a filter? >> Yes, he should. >> Okay, this is part of what I want to get at, too. You're blaming it on he's old. He's got no filter. That means you're using the same argument you used against Biden. He's too old to be doing this. >> No, I think brainwise running our country, he's fine. >> I think >> this is part of running the country. Oh, [ __ ] I think all the years in the past, people um trying to destroy him through taking him to court, through ripping through his house, through trying to put him in jail, through taking money, whatever they did to him by saying Russia, Russia, Russia, he's fed up. So, he's kind of No, >> but that's not a good temperament for the president of the United States. He You're saying it. >> He's old. He's scenile. his brain is [ __ ] going and he's firing [ __ ] off like this into the internet. That's tip of the iceberg. I mean, we'll talk about on Sunday, I'm sure, that Vanity Fair article with his chief of staff where she said that he had the the personality of an alcoholic. You know, what more do you want? >> But he's not an alcoholic. And she said that >> he's just an [ __ ] >> I already saw some of that that that was way taken out of context and stuff. >> What What context could that have possibly been in? It's a direct that they that they turned it upside down and stuff on her. >> Tell No, tell me the conversation that was going on when she said Donald Trump has the personality of an alcoholic. Tell me what is the context of that. That could have made that a good thing to say. >> That he's going to do things that he wants to do >> like an alcoholic. >> Yeah. Yeah. I guess. [laughter] >> Okay. >> When they're out of control maybe. I don't know. >> It has nothing to do with context. Um, she was just the the story that I'm reading anyway is she had been having multiple conversations. She had like a dozen conversations with that reporter over the course of a year and toward the end of it they were friends and she was just like saying [ __ ] off the cuff like the truth and that reporter decided to burn that relationship, print this article and put it all out there. >> I [snorts] thought that the um article was just recently the interview. >> No, it's mo they had been talking for a year. H Anyway, I'm sure we'll talk about it on Sunday. >> I had a couple topics that >> Oh, >> can I do them real quick? >> Yeah, of course. >> Well, it's just been a sad week and I think I got to get off social social media once we're done today and I'm not getting back on for a while. The Brown University, they still haven't even found who the shooter was. >> Well, that's Cash Patel. >> Uh, the Bondi Beach. Oh my god, that man that stopped the guy, one guy from shooting and they then they came back and shot him again or something and then one is dead, one is alive, right? Here's what I think about that eye for an eye there. You know what I would do? >> The one shooter that's still alive, take him on the beach. All the families that want to participate get to stand with their guns loaded and on three, boom. Okay, >> that's >> He killed a 10-year-old child. They did. >> That just I can't wrap my head around that one. >> Why do you not have the exact same feeling for what's happening in Palestine where 10-year-old kids are killed every day by Israelis, Israeli troops? >> I keep trying to tell you that's a war. >> Okay. How is it a war when you're shooting missiles at 10-year-old children, gathering firewood? Well, we're also fighting the war from within. >> Okay. You're just Australia. But >> I think, you know, you always say it's the guns, it's the guns. I think it's keeping the people out that shouldn't be in our United States or in our Australia. It's keeping the bad people out. That would sure help. >> Okay. Then one of my best actors ever that I loved so dear back in 1981 when I watched Luke and Laura get married. Have you heard this? Anthony Gary died. >> Oh, he's a soap opera. >> Luke Luke who married Laura back in 1981. >> He went for like 37 years being on soaps. Oh my god, he was so great. He retired in 2015 and then he married his partner Claudio Gamma I think is his name and they lived in Amsterdam the rest of their lives. I loved Luke. >> Did you see? You're too old. You're too young. You're too young. You're too young to know who Luke was. Luke Spencer of General Hospital. >> Yeah, I have some vague hazy memories of it. I remember one summer in between like maybe fourth and fifth grade or something. >> I stayed home. Uh I would always watch General Hospital with you for like a summer during the >> days. I made you watch them the day they got married. It would have been in 1981 on TV >> Haley was born. You would have been four and a half, right? >> 30 million people tuned in to watch that wedding and I was one of them. >> Ain't no TV shows like that anymore. >> Yeah. I loved him. Luke Spencer. Yeah, Luke and Laura. Rest in peace. Yeah. And also Rob Briner and his wife. It's terrible. Just terrible. >> I agree. >> And now what's going to The son went to court today, I think. >> I think today he went to court, but >> Yeah. I don't know. I'm sure could be life or um could be um not life in prison or death. Do we have death penalty? >> Yes, that's what I heard. That's what I saw on the news. Yeah. And he went to court for the first time today. >> Um it's still legal. >> Mortorium doesn't mean that people can't be sentenced to death >> in California, right? >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Just terrible, terrible tragedy. but it hasn't been carried out since 2006 due to a standing federal court order issued that year against the practice and a 2019 moratorium on executions ordered by Gavin Newsome. So, you can get sentenced to death, but they can't do it. They can't kill you. Oh, and then Trump today also he did do um he stood up at um it was do I think air force base the transfer of our two dead soldiers that came back from Syria. >> Mhm. >> So he stood there and watched them come out of the airplane and also the one citizen. >> All right. Well, there you have it. Thank you for joining us. This was our midweek episode. We will be back on Sunday with more topics. Obviously, whatever Trump is going to say tonight in this speech. I'm sure we'll be talking about that. Uh we have some other stuff too that kind of has already been popping off this week. >> I will I think I will watch that tonight, but then I'm off social media for a while. It's getting to me. It's getting to me a little bit. >> We have Elon Musk is maybe going to be investigated for knowing about the election results before they happen. that Vanity Fair article and we had a very bad jobs report come out. We'll be talking about that. >> And we also have gas under $2 or under $3, I mean it's in the two. The diesel's way down. >> Yeah. And we'll talk about your $2,000 check if you're going to sign it over to me because he's going to hand them out. He's going to talk about that tonight. >> Yeah, we'll see. We shall see. Um All right. Well, thank you everybody for joining us. Thank you, mom, for doing these with me. You're welcome. >> I love you for doing this, even though your views on Donald Trump are absolutely insane. >> And uh Haley, if you're watching this, we hope you're resting up and feeling better. >> Of course, she's not. She went to work and then she's in great pain. >> Yes, [laughter] she told me this. >> Yeah, >> she's gallivanting. Should not be. >> Well, we got to work. >> Love you. >> Love you, too. See you later. Bye. >> All right. Bye.
